August1991
Bored, trying to sleep, improve my English, I have been watching movies from the 1940s. Search Youtube: Film noir Or, search in Youtube: "Shakedown" "Johnny O'Clock" "Another Man's Poison" "Flight to Hong Kong" ===== The Big Lebowski is an imitation of these movies. I thought the title was an imitation of "The Big Sleep" with Bogart - THE Bogart. The original was based on a crime novel from the famous Raymond Chandler. The original film was somewhat botched, in that the plot is impossible to follow. The Coen Brothers make films that are ode to films, as postmodernists do. Tarrantino too. So they redid it with an aging boomer hippie as the 'detective'. I never laughed harder in the cinema.
