WestCanMan Posted August 24, 2021 Report Posted August 24, 2021 Sure, the Afghans just love puffing up their chests, and strutting around with their guns out while Yanks crawl and ask for mercy, and they don't have a history of loving foreign interference, but China is eyeing Afghanistan's resources like their own cash cow now, the Afghans need money fast, and Xi would love to get a medal on his chest for being in Afghanistan on the day that America slinks out with their tail between their legs. How much would Xi give Afghanistan just for a chance to land a couple of fighter planes at Bagram on Sept 1? They could just act like it's an escort for some Chinese officials, no big deal, and they could casually mention that America needs to be out without actually giving an order, but it will look like a transfer of power to the entire world. The Chinese could act like they're going there just to set up a new embassy somewhere, maybe in a building that was just made famous with a Buffalo chopper flying above it. Just imagine the optics of that. China could win the war in Afghanistan without firing a shot. The PR would be through the roof. It. Would. Be. Epic. They could give Afghanistan $50B dollars just for the photo op, and charge it to Trudeau's "I wipe my ass with Canadian taxpayer money" Visa. OftenWrong Posted August 25, 2021 Report Posted August 25, 2021 This seems almost a sure thing as Afghanistan has a very rich resource of rare-earth minerals. When it comes to rare-earth minerals, it's a gold mine. And Afghanistan has little to no reason to hate the Chinese, far as I know they've never had a conflict. Meanwhile the west just finished bombing the shit out of them for the past 20 years, and the Soviets for the 20 years before that. The treasure trove of lithium and germanium that is underground in Afghanistan will help to enrich the Chinese, and bring on the new Chinese century. Quote
