Could be. She had a boyfriend from Mid Easter origin.

You clearly aren't interested in any sort of reality here.

From Wikipedia:

"In the early hours of 31 August 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales died in hospital after being injured in a car crash in a road tunnel in Paris. Her partner, Dodi Fayed, and their driver, Henri Paul, were pronounced dead at the scene. "

"Emad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Mena'em Fayed (/fˈɛd/; Arabic: عماد الدين محمد عبد المنعم الفايد[ʕaˈmæːd ɪdˈdiːn muˈħæmmæd ʕæbdelˈmenʕem fæːjed], 15 April 1955 – 31 August 1997), better known as Dodi Fayed (Arabic: دودي الفايد[ˈduːdi]), was an Egyptian film producer and the son of billionaire Mohamed El Fayed. On 31 August 1997, he died in a car crash in Paris with Diana, Princess of Wales, with whom he was in a romantic relationship. "

This is the reality.

Are you of the opinion that the press only started to pay attention to Diana when she started dating a Muslim?

Being Muslim wasn't particularly controversial in 1997.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

I imagine there were probably a few nasty articles written about her and her Muslim boyfriend, with racism lurking in the background.  But I know nothing with certainty.

Well exactly. The British gutter press killed her as much as a drunk driver did, but I don't think it was because of her boyfriend.  She'd already had a relationship with a Pakistani Muslim, and was quite close to Imran Khan, if memory serves.

Maybe.  I wouldn't know.  I stopped reading the Sun and the Daily Mirror when I could afford my own papers.

No. That is your weird white saviour version of reality, perhaps. Diana was mobbed by the press from the moment she was announced as Charlie's fiancee, and they weren't polite about whatever they thought about anything she said or did or what she was wearing or how she looked.
