Why Conservatives Suck!

During Harper’s reign, the Conservatives employed four tactics: ally themselves closely with Big Oil, tax cuts (especially for corporations), go to war with environmental, Indigenous and social justice groups, and embrace Islamophobia/anti-Arab bigotry. This meant ignoring or denying climate change, building pipelines, auditing environmental groups, and portraying Arabs as terrorists or less than civilized.

This was seen in the treatment of Omar Khadr, who was accused of killing an American soldier during a firefight in Afghanistan at age 15. Khadr was detained at Guantánamo Bay by the Americans for 10 years where he was often brutally tortured. Yet the Harper government fought hard to keep him first in American custody, and then behind bars, despite the fact that a 2010 Supreme Court ruling found that his human rights were violated while in Guantánamo Bay.

During the 2015 election, the Tories took a hardline position on Muslim headwear and vowed to set up a police hotline to report what it called “barbaric cultural practices."

You mean support the key industry which was helping keep our economy from sinking into the quagmire of deep recession like all the rest of the world? What kind of moronic idiots wouldn't do that?

Their biggest tax cut was to the GST, which went to everyone. And in fact, given how the opposition were demanding big economic incentive spending, the cut to the GST would have spurred spending and helped the economy.

Nonsense. The only thing you can point to in that regard is them believing, as did the vast majority of Canadians, that if you were going to become a Canadian, then you ought to be able to compromise enough to show your face at a swearing in ceremony, not hide behind a mask.

Conservatives sometimes suck because many are too strict and religious and have no open mindedness, just like their counterparts on the Left who they sometimes call snowflakes.

Just a benign example, ask a Conservative if he wants to smoke weed after work, and he's going to say no, with disdain and will probably say something like 'I don't do drugs and I didn't know you were that type of person', starting a tirade about how weed is bad, or trying to flee away from you and your group afterward.

Very closeted, very shy personalities are inclined to be on this political spectrum, and Conservatives in general lack people skills and don't have much fun.

Also, a bunch of Conservatives who are on the Right Side of the Conservative spectrum align with many socially restrictive ideas, that are anti freedom, while advocating they are the advocates for freedom.

Most progressives and conservatives suck.

A lot of progressives tend to be coddling p*ssies and a lot of conservatives tend to be a-holes.  You need a balance of compassion and personal responsibility.  I can feel compassion for you and get you a bit of help but you also have to get off your butt and do the work to make your life better to help yourself.

We should not coddle and shelter people, and we should not treat people with indifference when they're suffering either.

Well I don't believe you must wait until marriage to have sex.... Anyone who has a hot girlfriend.... Shouldn't force themselves to miss out, just because some religion tells them premarital sex immoral.

We should be encouraging heterosexuality in a safe way, and not censoring it.

I think part of the reason people want to join LGBT, is because we continue to shame Heterosexuality.... It's not fun for a girl to get called a HO, just because she wants to dress up and go out.

If conservatives want to fight LGBT, they have to stop shaming Heterosexuality. What's the alternative for horny people, when you brainwash them with this MeToo crap?

The social engineers have made LGBT the safe space, while making the culture of Heterosexuality unsafe.
