Socialist war on God continues

A history of the US Communist Party's attempt to destroy religion and promote the left's radical agenda:

Note: I'm not terribly religious but I am appalled at the way the left demonizes everyone who is religious. Yes, some religious people are kooky, but personally, I find the 10 Commandments a good moral guide for society... :)

In 1932, it was Communist Party USA founder, William Z. Foster, in his book, Toward Soviet America, who outlined "the elementary measures the American Soviet government will adopt to further the cultural revolution."

His target: America's schools. His strategy:

tudies will be revolutionized, being cleansed of religious, patriotic and other features of the bourgeois ideology. The students will be taught on the basis of Marxian dialectical materialism, internationalism and the general ethics of the new Socialist society. Present obsolete methods of teaching will be superseded by a scientific pedagogy.

There is much to behold in that 1932 statement, and it has all come to pass – religion and patriotism replaced with materialism, internationalism, the ethics of socialism, and the scientific pedagogy – can anyone doubt it?

But let's not stop there. As to those "other features of the bourgeois ideology" that were to be ‘cleansed,' the traditional family was at the top of the list.

Recall, if you will, Communist Founder Karl Marx bragged that he and his fellow communists would "Abolish the family!" Why? Because the traditional family was the transmission belt of Christian and Capitalist values. Plain and simple. The traditional family had to go – and with it, home schools, private schools, and old styled public schools (where parents were the employers, the curriculum chiefs, the bosses over the neighborhood school).

"The bourgeois claptrap about the family and education, about the hallowed co-relation of parent and child …[is] disgusting," Marx wrote. His plan? "We destroy the most hallowed of relations when we replace home education with social."

I'm not religious at all. I consider myself agnotstic; I'm not sure if there is a higher being....but then again, I am not convinced about Darwin'w Theory - although I tend to lean towards his theory.

However, I am appalled at the sneering condescending tone of liberals towards religion. Indeed, it strikes me as being very intolerant.

Since when is Communism the same as Socialism. You are getting the two mixed.

Remember, free schools, labour laws, health care, pensions, aid for the poor and disabled etc..................are ALL Socialistic ideals.

None of us would be on this line right now because none of us could read. You are able to write the sentence you did because of some hardcore Socialist ideals.

Speaking of intolerant, I refer you to Pat Robertson and George Bush. Bush, who claims to be a Christian, has gone beyond intolerent to imcompetence causing death. Since you include me in your tirade (I am a Liberal) it's not the Liberals who call people traitors who disagree with Bush. Liberals are often called commies and pinkos, etc. I think what the right confuses is that Liberals in general are open minded. We are tolerant of other races, religions, faiths, lifestyles, etc. And we don't need to monopolize talk radio to demonstrate that.

You say that you are "not terribly religious but I am appalled at the way the left demonizes everyone who is religious. Yes, some religious people are kooky, but personally, I find the 10 Commandments a good moral guide for society... :)"

My first question is of the 10 commandments found in at least three parts of the Bible -- Exodus 20, 2-17; Exodus 34, 12-26; and Deuteronomy 5, 6-21-- which do you think are "a good moral guide for society?"

Thou shalt have no other gods befor me? Thou shalt not make a graven image? How about this from Exodus 34, 12-14, "Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land wither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break theirimages, and cut down their groves: For thou shalt worship no other god; for the LORD, whos name is Jealous, is a jealous God."

Some of the 10 commandments are, arguably, a "good moral guide for society" -- Thou shalt not kill; commit adultery; steal; bear false witness against thy neighbour; covet thy neighbour's house, wife, manservant, maidservant, ox, ass, nor anything that is thy neigbour's. But notice all of the commandments are based on what you should not do, not what you should do, and that is insufficent for a "a good moral guide to your society."

Apart from obeying the LORD, the 10 commandments can be summed up in one commandment "mind your own business," not much to build a moral society on.

My next questions are which Left are you talking about, where is this demonizing taking place, and what form is the demonizing taking?

Regards

Steve

Man I wish we could stop thinking in such broad generalizations as you did in that post. To say that "appalled at the way the left demonizes everyone who is religious" is a rather disgusting class to put aprox half the population.

Are we just too lazy to realize that everyone has their set of beliefs, and we can't lump them all together for convenient analysis? Human behaviour is the most dynamic area of study, and we are reducing it to formulae. Whats wrong with this picture?

Nonsense. I am here because of capitalist rightwingers. They are the tolerant ones; not the intolerant socialists.

When you raise $600,000 and deliver it to the Islamofascists in Fallujah--just before the US is going in to clean the terrorists out--then you are a commie pinko traitor.

Which is vastly different than your sneering condescending tone towards "the left," I suppose?

Are you denying that the majority of the left looks down on people who believe in a higher power?

I'd say that any one on the "left" would deny that yes.. the "lefts" position has always been to learn towards not indoctrination of any one religion over another.. give it up Burns....

No, I was mainly pointing out that your entire post was a case of what you were railing against.

That said, I do deny it. Many of the leftists that I know believe very much in a higher power. What they do look down upon are the people that insist that their own personal beliefs in a higher power ought to be determine the law of the land.

Dear Montgomery Burns,

Are you denying that the majority of the left looks down on people who believe in a higher power?
I will join in that denial. Another 'false dichotomy' argument akin to saying that the 'left' loves Saddam and Osama because they disagree with the invasion of Iraq.

The 'left' derides the hypocrisy of the 'religious', especially those outdated dogmas of intolerance and literal biblical interpretation. I should say that this derision extends to 'Islamo-fascism' as well.

I Miss Trudeau

Are you saying in effect Christianity is a harmful religion when from the begining of this country assisted with government greatly, into building a civilized, moralistic, great country with laws reflecting the values and goodness associated with Christianity?

How can you codemn such a noble cause especially when you were never excluded but instead aggressively forged your own unmoralistic path directly into standards associated with Christianity instead of pursuing the proper path and create standards for your diverse group like any other religious organized body has done.

The post in question that 'I Miss Trudeau' could not understand was concerning his post in which he said --"Many of the lefties I know believe in a much higher power. What they do look down upon are the people that insist in a higher power ought to detirmine the law of the land."

It would seem his 'lefties are possibly homosexual and are not Christian' since any Christian denomination feels Christianity is a part of Canada with morals and values that should be reflected in law.

I assumed 'I Miss Trudeau' would have easily picked up on that post--sorry!

BTW--Iam a heterosexual male--What are you Melaine???

Sadly, you didn't address my post in any way, but here goes anyway. I enjoy slamming my head into brick walls, it seems.

Oh, I see. anyone who doesn't support theocratic rule is a "possible homosexual?"

I know many christians that support same sex marriage. Also, contrary to your rather limited view, not everyone that believes in a higher power is a christian. You'd do well to expand your horizons, my friend. Try this.. read a few books, and turn off AM radio for a few weeks.

I assumed 'I Miss Trudeau' would have easily picked up on that post--sorry!

Sorry, your post was literally incomprehensible.

Utter nonsense. Many religious groups, Christian and otherwise, support a degree of separation between church and state. And this may come a sa surprise to Leafless, but many chruch denominations also support gay rights, such as marriage.

I don't see how you get from IMT's post to your claim that lefties are possibly homosexual and are not Christian. Your view of Christianity has no room for tolerance of gays and lesbians, but you don't speak for all Christians. Many Christians still manage to respect differing views, and don't insist that their beliefs are imposed on everyone around them - that is what I understood IMT to say.

As for who/what I am, this is the Internet, and I can be whoever I want. In reality, though, I am a married mother of 4 about to become a grandmother - does that picture fit with your assumption?

Yawn, yawn. More mindless and endless right rhetoric. So now you're saying the NDP and Liberals are homosexual. You really gotta get out more often, and quit watching Fox news.

The moniker is more trouble than you would think. My self image is not as Grandma, Granny, Baba, etc. My preference is Great Goddess of Grandmothers, but my family thinks that is a bit much for a baby to say...

Any suggestions???

So just have the kid call you "GG" or "Gigi" for short.

Being a goddess, do you know where I might meet a goddess of lapdancers???
