“Do you believe we are Winning the War on Drugs?

Do you believe we are Loosing the War on Drugs?

Do you even care?

All of these Questions beg to be answered in this the Longest Lasting War in American History. It has the distinction of the Biggest war put on by America. It’s the most prolific War in our history with prisoners counted in the millions. It effects every single American citizen. Yet due in large part of the Pro-Drug War side, it has continued for decades and shows no sign of slowing, in fact every year it gets bigger and bigger.”

“Almost every American self medicates in one form or another. They take prescription drugs from there pharmacies, they take over the counter medications they can buy any where. They take legal Drugs like Alcohol, and cigarettes, they self medicate using all these Drugs. None of these people can morally say they are any different than the Illegal drug users.

When Americans try to say that self medication with one drug is ok, but self medication with another drug isnt, they enter into the moral quagmire that the War Machine puts in front of them. You get into all kinds of technical data that is put out by the War Machine, Medical associations, and lawyers and this doesn’t help anyone understand what self medication is or isnt.

Don’t rely on data concocted by entities that are profiting from this War!

As a good example look at what these people have to say about coffee!

http://frankweed.blogspot.com/2005/09/drug-x.html/

“The Clinical Management of Poisoning and Drug Overdose states:

"this Drug X-induced psychosis, whether it be delirium, manic depression, schizophrenia, or merely an anxiety syndrome, in most cases will be hard to differentiate from other organic or non-organic psychoses....The treatment for this Drug X-induced psychosis is to withhold Drug X."

Does any American feel that way about coffee? Of course not, so why count on these people to tell you the truth in a simple concise manner?

This War can not sustain itself. It needs to end. Prohibition started 50 years ago based on prejudice and racism, and it still relies on those things today. It leaves a foul taste in most Americans mouth. The War has to end. All Wars must eventually come to an end.

Many are scared by the fact that there is no exit strategy for when the Pro Drug War advocates have pushed this War as far as middle America will or can go. But in the mean time there are crimes going on against humanity. Oh Americans hate to hear that don’t we.

What I propose is a way for middle of the road Christian Americans to make a fair and unbiased opinion on this War by looking at the common sence facts and not allowing the other elements of this War distract them with there propaganda.

I am relying on information I get from the Internet from all parts of this War. I am communicating with Americans in Christian forums, and in Political forums, as well as drug forums. I want to offer a way for all rational Americans to realize what the War is and what it is doing to Americans right now while you are reading this. I also hope to provide a way for Most Americans to accept Self medication for what it is and not what some wish it might be.”

Well without appearing a facist to detail. When i pop 2 advil to stop my splitting headache; im not really all that worried about burning out brain cells and becoming hopelessly addicted to them. I think there maybe a stuttle difference between illegal narcotics and a glass of wine or two advils.

I guarantee more people die and more lives are ruined because of alcohol than, say, marijuana.

BD, not this again.......

Just think about the alcohol consumed compared to the dope smoked. Now think about how much more dope would be smoked if it were legal and widely accepted in all social circles. The lung problems would take over from the liver problems perhaps, so please quit comparing the two. It's two separate subjects.

Why don't you compare dope smoking to cigarettes and all those health problems instead? That's a comparison.

The trouble with the legal profession is that 98% of its members give the rest a bad name.

Don't be humble - you're not that great.

Somewhat of a comparison, granted. Marijuana is traditionally smoked unfiltered, so it is somewhat harmful. Less so than cigarettes, because a) one does not smoke a 25 pack of doobies/day

and B) harmful, carcinogenic additives to increase addiction are not found in marijuana.

It has also been demonstrated that people under the influence of marijuana are generally safer drivers than those under the influence of alcohol. One recent study done by the police (I believe it was in Moose Jaw, SK) found that in a driving test around a pylon course, the marijuana users scored better than both the drinkers and the abstainers. Mind you, other tests have shown other results.

so please quit comparing the two. It's two separate subjects.
Not so, they are very comparable, with alcohol being the more harmful of the two.

Many people have become addicted to painkillers of all sorts, and not everyone is prone to addiction.

The biggest problem with all drugs, and 'natural plants with drug-like properties', is when mankind alters them. Marijuana, coca, opium etc all appear naturally throughout the world. It is when mankind chemically alters them or their derivatives that the problems start.

Marijuana, the coca leaf, the poppy should all be 'legal' but 'cooking' them into more powerful drugs such as cocaine and heroin should be illegal, with the strongest possible jail terms or hard labour. Especially for completely 'man-made drugs' such as crystal meth.

Would the Special Olympics Committee disqualify kids born with flippers from the swimming events?

Because an activity is legal, that does not mean the activity is morally good. If the State permits an activity, that doesn't mean the State condones the activity.

Many people smoke cigarettes yet the State actively discourages people from smoking. I find nothing contradictory in this.

I am certain that in the future, it will be legal but difficult to obtain many drugs now supposedly forbidden.

In cigarettes, you'll find plastic... to coat the tobacco so it stays fresh (makes Cyanide when burned)

In cigarettes you'll find saltpeter... to make sure the cigarette burns right out if unattended (tobacco would extinguish itself)

There are about 200 additives put into the average cigarette's tobacco. And you wonder about cancer.

The anti-drug NAZI's will tell you that pot is worse for you... but where's the study's to back them up... With Saddam's WMDs??

so please quit comparing the two. It's two separate subjects.

There are more significant comparisons. Alcohol tends to bring out aggression.... makes couple's fight, and regularly leads to violent tendencies... Whereas pot makes people more introverted, less violent, etc...

Maybe they should legalize it and TAX IT. I've heard studies that say up to 10% of Canadian adults smoke the stuff.... It seems like a stretch, but hey... maybe it is true..... Deficits gone.... A huge increase in tourism, (especially American tourists, who apparently like the stuff too).
