Seems like everyone wants in on the action:

"The State Department said offers of help had been received from:

Australia, Austria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, China, Columbia, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Greece, Guyana, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Philippines, Portugal, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela." (from CNN)

Venezuela?? One for you Pat Robertson. And oh, apparently another one of them pesky axis of evil guys wants to help:

"Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said Iran is ready to send its humanitarian aid to America via the Red Crescent especially when many of the needy survivors were not satisfied with the process of aid and believed that they were not helped as much as they deserved" (http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/RWB.NSF/db900SID/SODA-6FX9MX?OpenDocument)

But according to this source, Bush says thanks but no thanks.

Well, at least Condi could sell a pair of her shoes to help with the relief effort.

I think your comment is facitious but I am not sure. I'm of the opinion personally (because of these types of comments that have been rife for the last bit) that you all need to fix your own shit. Altruism is completely lost on you lot. you don't give to get. You give because you can. I for one won't donate a red cent.

Perhaps ma could elaborate because his comment could be taken either way although it was probably a sincere appreciation.

apologies, sometimes the fingers run faster than the brain. I thought you were and was wrong. It is amazing how many forums are full of the " Deafening Silenc e" comments about the world community.

no sacrasm intended.

No problem, I try not to let anti-americanism or personal attacks bother me. Just gotta defend urself/point as best you can. Forum posting is not necessarily the ideal form of communication there is no emotional tone involved, that you get through verbal discourse. Thus written words appear harsh/sarcastic, when possibly they were not meant to appear so.
