mirror Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 What is the matter with these political parties that refuse to act after it is quite obvious that their leader is not cutting it with the voting public? A good case in point is the situation in Quebec with Premier Jean Charest. Are there any plans in the works to replace him before the next provincial election, or are we just going to sit idly by, and watch a tired, boring, lack of any new ideas party like the PQ get relected, and start up with their nonsense about separation all over again. I know we have already had two referendums run by the Quebec provincial government, which the federalists have won, and now we have the Clarity Act enacted by the federal government, but why should Quebec be allowed to keep up this separation silliness forever? As a average Ontarionian I am scared on voting out the Liberals for fear of having Harper send my son and daughter to Iraq and having HMO's on every street cornor, Canadian Tire delivering my health care while the Christian church decides on what movies I should watch and who should marry. So please stop pulling that card =p I still find it funny you think free trade caused tariffs, since that is exactly what it is supposed to eliminate. I would also like to know the source that claims Mulroney caused the US to stop allowing beef over the border. I agree on that. There have been political instabilities for years in quebec but specially since trudeau and the only politician that really wanted to fix this was murloney. The liberal are doing nothing, i don't know what they expect... Canada need a major reform to fix this instability cause the problem are at the root of the country and we can't grow without dealing with the problem the country is facing. Quote
mirror Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 It makes no difference whether it is the Harper Conservatives or Martin Liberals who hold power in Ottawa as they are both the same, useless, group of political hasbeens, to me. However as far as Quebec is concerned, and to keep them in our current dysfunctional Canadian family, the last thing we need is for the Harper Conservatives to take power in Ottawa. I miss Trudeau. And Levesque. Who knows, maybe Layton and Duceppe will be the ones to replace them. But for goodness sake, let's get rid of Charest. Quote

I even heard, the possibility of an election this years, a few weeks after the end of the pq leadership race. Quote
