Big Blue Machine Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 I have lost interest in our politics. I'm tired of being right all the time. Quote And as I take man's last step from the surface, for now but we believe not too far into the future. I just like to say what I believe history will record that America's challenge on today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow. And as we leave the surface of Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and god willing we shall return with peace and hope for all mankind. Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17. The Terrible Sweal Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Some people clearly have a very low threshold for 'always right'. Quote
caesar Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Okay, Big Blue. You have plenty of time later when you have a little more experience. You are only right of center; seldom "correct". If I supported a turkey like Harper; I, too, would take a break from politics. Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted February 4, 2005 Author Report Posted February 4, 2005 I read that. Just because I won't post anything doesn't mean I won't be reading. PocketRocket Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I read that. Just because I won't post anything doesn't mean I won't be reading. Well I should hope so. To give up reading would be just silly. I particularly like Tom Holt novels, myself Enjoy the break, BLUE. See you when you decide to come back. Quote I need another coffee
caesar Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I believe' Big Blue is a teenager; much more fun and interesting things to do. Have fun Big Blue. I just had to give you a little leg pull. hehe. Your parents should be proud of you. Although, you support the "right"; you have done so without the cheap shots and childishness of some of our more elder posters (left, center and right---including myself from time to time). Keep up the good work. Quote
daniel Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 He must be struggling with his political identity. He posted a what was supposed to be a simple question once and turned out to be quite complex. Also, his right wing leanings turned out to be inconsistent with his position on equal pay for work of equal value when he learned the champion of that was Bob Rae who tried to implement it. Quote
Guest eureka Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 It is not possible to take a sabbatical from politics. Life is politics. As Nietchse said, " wherever I saw a living thing, there I saw the will to power." That is politics and it is with us every waking moment. Quote

That just shows he still thinks for himself instead of simply following the party line without any real thought. Anyone who doesn't from time to time have breaks from the party line is simply unwilling or unable to think for himself. What am I doing/ Sticking up for a right winger (gives her head a shake) Quote
August1991 Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 For once, caesar, I agree with you. BBM was an ambitious kid. He wants to "make it". Well, all his posts on this Forum are on record now. If he aims for PM Ontario, PM Canada, any journalist will reach back to quote his Internet Forum utterings. (Google keeps records.) What will the quotes show? "I Want To Be Important." BBM is not interested in society, politics, discussion, philosophy. BBM wants to be "Famous". Sorry BBM, you're screwed. Or tell your friends to participate on the Internet honestly (Google keeps records - Did I say that?). IOW, BBM you still have a chance. Tell us honestly what you think. For the record. Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted February 5, 2005 Author Report Posted February 5, 2005 Aww, thanks everyone. I love you too. Besides I was joking when I said I'm tried of being right. I acted more maturely than the older adults, ironically. I didn't get angry with Liberals and called them Fiberals. Sure, daniel, there are inconstitenties in what I believe. I'm for equal pay, environment, public health care with private clincs too, public education, more money to defence, space exploration. I believe that no one should pay more than 50% in their income to both governments, I believe in compromise in this same-sex marriage thing. I'm against abortion. I don't want to be famous, I want to be remembered. My dad says I shouldn't become Premier of Ontario. Plus, I've lost interest in it. Stoker Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 My dad says I shouldn't become Premier of Ontario. Plus, I've lost interest in it. Didn't Nixon say something along those lines after losing to Kennedy? Quote The beaver, which has come to represent Canada as the eagle does the United States and the lion Britain, is a flat-tailed, slow-witted, toothy rodent known to bite off it's own testicles or to stand under its own falling trees. -June Callwood-
Big Blue Machine Posted February 5, 2005 Author Report Posted February 5, 2005 Indeed. So take my beliefs and consider them for yourself. daniel Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Welcome back. Your sabbatical only lasted one week. Quote
Big Blue Machine Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 No I won't engage in debating. Slavik44 Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 sorry, this post needs to be deleted, my bad. Quote The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
