Actually, it's hysterical.  Seeing as how he leapt to fame by saying there would be 'compelled speech' and now that that hasn't happened, he's moving on to the next thing.  He's such a basic thinker, and an alarmist.  Unfortunately, his calm manner masks his true objective, which is to generate attention and money for himself.

WoW!  You do know who we're talking about...right?

It's good you can read people's motivations even though you've never met them and don't listen to them. That's quite a talent.

Can you otherwise explain why an academic who was ostensibly rejected, would accept $1M a year and commit to personal appearances with a disruptable rag ?  I think he sees his days at UofT as numbered.  I don't think that he is being treated fairly, but he's not fighting the good fight either.  He is taking dirty money.

The money isn't coming from the Rebel. The Rebel merely organized a crowdfunding thing to replace the normal grants he's been getting forever, which he and others believe were cut because of political correctness.

Mr. $1M a year, attending mixers for the anti-Jewish online news, yes.  I don't think he's a virulent racist, I just think he hangs out with them.

The Rebel is an anti-Jewish web site run by a Jew?

Strange, isn't it ?

Can you point to anything it's written which is antisemitic?

As far as he's gone in the religious debate is acknowledge that western society is rooted in a christian belief system, he has also said in regards to God, that "he lives his life "as if there is a God".  He generally looks at the bible and Christianity for the moral stories (both good and bad) that are presented and breaks them down into a sociological meaning.

1 Mill a year? Have not heard that before.   Peterson lost federal funding and The Rebel picked up the tab.  Again I will note that is something Argus pointed out, but you seem to keep misrepresenting the fact.

https://thevarsity.ca/2017/05/01/jordan-petersons-federal-funding-denied-rebel-media-picks-up-the-tab/

Quote

Ezra Levant, founder and self-described “Rebel Commander” of The Rebel Media, spearheaded an Indiegogo campaign to raise the first year’s worth of funding, $73,325, for Peterson’s research team within a 30-day period. The Indiegogo project reached its goal in one day. The next goal was to raise an additional $82,325 to support the second year of research, which the campaign has also reached.

That's a little lower than your claimed 1 million per year.

Let's break this down - The Rebel crowd funded him because his grants were cut.   And they have a reception starring JP, which is mutually beneficial.

Argus was saying The Rebel DIDN'T pick it up, though.  They merely promoted a go-fund-me type thing.  Or something.

Ironically, there is an interview with him in the Post today and in it he's asked if he believes in God. His answer was I think the proper response to that is No, but I’m afraid He might exist. So I'm a bit curious about what you're talking about.

Not God.  Religion.  I'll see if I can find an example of what I'm talking about as I don't remember where I heard/read them.

That sounds more like people being offended rather than purposeful disunification, as I discussed with BCSapper.

You sound more offended upset than the rest of us posting in this thread.

Yes he has a Patreon account and people give to that willingly.  As he states, all his material is online for free.

I'm not offended at all.  I'm disappointed that we lost an opportunity to set up a discussion with a newly defined, post-social-media 'public'.  Really it's too bad it went this way.

The discussion is still going on. I think it is a matter of some not wanting to participate.

Yes.  And because JP sold out to the bubblesphere, he has put his reputation on the skids and alienated many who will never listen to him.  That's his fault.  If he wanted to reach out he could have done.

It was paywalled podcast.  I think I heard about it here:

That's not much to go on

Gavin McInnes: We’re here in Israel, where we’re supposed to be brainwashed by Kim Jong-Ezra Levant…

Sounds like he's mocking Ezra, or joking with him/about him? Much of this sounds like they're drunk, frankly, and just spouting stuff to be seen as cocky and politically incorrect. And most of what Mccinnes says about Jews he's also saying about Christians.   In any case, this guy is no longer with the Rebel, nor is Goldy. Seems kinda slim to call the site anti-Semitic. And bear in mind I don't ever visit The Rebel so I'm not closely familiar with it. But I also don't have a dog in this show. I'm not a huge fan of Peterson, though I think he's a lot smarter than The Rebel.

What's the bubblesphere??  And as far as I can tell his reputation gets better all the time.  I mean you should really watch that 30 minute bit from the UK's Channel 4.  His reputation surely increased with good standing after the Lindsay Sheppard incident at WLU.

I refer to bubbles of influence, wherein people just communicate with those who agree with them.

Do you have a cite ?

Why ?  That had nothing to do with him.  Some profs acted beyond their authority and misunderstood his points - how does that increase his reputation "with good standing" ?  :D
