The budget seems to help certain Ontarians like  people under 24 for drug coverage in 2018 and seniors who live in cities who take public transit, did i MISS something for the rest of us?                                                              http://www.ey.com/Publication/vwLUAssets/Tax_Alert_2017_No_19/$FILE/TaxAlert2017No19.pdf

Well, despite the claim that the budget is now balanced Ontario will borrow $26.4 billion this year and $32.2 billion next year. But don't worry. It's just a technicality. It's not like the most corrupt and incompetent government in Ontario's history is trying to cook the books to look better as an election approaches or anything.

I was going to mention that it does contain more dept for the rest of us. The free drugs thing is small potatoes, under 25 years of age. How about they give them to seniors instead? They're the ones who really need that.

We really have to kill this myth that seniors need help.   They benefited from the richest pensions and gold plated social spending programs, cheap tuition and low house prices and now they vote against the same for the younger generation.  They are closer to economic leeches IMO.

Good for the government for at least recognizing the youth, even if it's foolhardy spending and dead end politics.

Richest. Seniors. Ever. How the luckiest generation keeps making money — and spending it

They get the sweetest discounts on movies, transit and restaurant meals, but a lot of Canadian seniors hardly need them — they’re richer than ever.

Canadians 65 and older have amassed wealth like no other age cohort before them, having been blessed enough to work in an era where generous pensions plans were still standard, where stock portfolio growth was spectacular, and with gains in housing prices that no future generation might ever see again.

Seniors already get free prescription drugs.
