WestCoastRunner Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 What about the rest of the party leaders? Is this a women's issue to you? Why would you assume it's a women's issue? Smallc Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Why would you assume it's a women's issue? Because you keep bringing up May as if she matters more than Tim Moen. She doesn't. Quote

Smallc Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 . I didn't mention women. You did. You keep mentioning her. Do you just want her, or all the leaders? Quote

WestCoastRunner Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Tune into her podcasts then. You can hear her all the time. That's not the same as providing her the same platform as the other big boys. I see there is a problem with democracy in Canada. Still. poochy Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Fiorina went from happy hour status to 2nd place based purely on the debates. The Green Party could very well do the same given the opportunity. Who knows what can happen. We have one female leader of a political party. She should be on stage with the rest of the men. Seems like it's a bit about her being a woman. Quote

Canada_First Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 That's not the same as providing her the same platform as the other big boys. I see there is a problem with democracy in Canada. Still.if she can get mainstream support and prove that she has a chance of actually becoming the ruling party then maybe. Until then this woman doesn't belong. Let the three men discuss the important issues since it will be on of these men who runs the country. Not the Green leader. Quote

Canada_First Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Again with "runs the country". It's no wonder we don't have democracy in Canada - nobody would recognize it. The point of representative democracy is to represent the people. Not "run the country". I'm well aware it's just easier to type. Shorter. For all intents and purposes the PM is a member of the ruling party. Until May has a realustuc chance at that job she doesn't belong at the debates. Quote

ReeferMadness Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 I don't understand the conflict with mays participation. There's no conflict - that's my point. May is there to represent a unique point of view that she brings, and that point of view is representative of something in the neighborhood (according to the polls) of 6% of the population. So, she's there to represent a point of view, not just as someone who might "run the country". Canada_First Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 She has 4 percent support. I don't care what she says because she'll never be in a position to make any decisions. So why should we clog up the stage with her talking? I'd rather hear from people you will actually form the next government. Quote

Smallc Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 She does matter. She gives voice to other parties. Other parties? She gives voice to her own small special interest party. I don't see you making arguments for Tim Moen or anyone else. Quote
