Back to the Future - because the future is holding for us what the pre-Harris NDP government did to us back then. Debt costs are continuing to rise as the credit-rating agencies refuse to swallow the "strong fiscal plans" of the Wynne government. But the worst legacy of the McGuinty/Wynne tandem (so far) is the effect of their disastrous energy policies on individuals and businesses. Take a look at the price of power - forget that the chart is in "pennies". The reality is that Ontario's electricity - arguably a manufacturer's biggest operating cost - is as much as two to three times as expensive as competing juristictions

Chrysler CEO tells Kathleen Wynne hydro costs making Ontario too expensive for businesses

Concerns expressed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne over Ontarios hydro costs have been echoed by Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

On Friday at the Toronto Global Forum, Marchionne said the province needs to change the playing field for business.

I think you need to create the conditions to be competitive, Marchionne said after sitting beside Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne during the conference luncheon. Were fully aware of the fact that this proposal on pensions and cap and trade and all this stuff these are all things that add cost to the running of operations, they dont come for free

He's not the first one to complain. Magna's CEO warned before the last election that his company, which owns 50 auto parts factories in Ontario, would not open any more here because of the high cost of electricity. The response from the Liberals was to promise to bring in a new cap and trade scheme to push the cost of power even higher.

But we are leading the world to a more progressive, greener future! Plus our premier, well how much more fashionable could she, and by extension, Ontario, be? These are the things that really matter, not if you can make your house payments, or feed your children, those are plebeian concerns in comparison to being progressive, green, and socially fashionable.

Or we could continue believing in the myth of conservatives being good fiscal managers.

it's been over 8 years of government budget cuts, in every department, And instead of running surplus, Harper has cut taxes so that we all directly benefit from it.

If he wasn't slashing taxes and giving tax credits to families. Harper would have a huge surplus.

You aren't fooling me.

Boy have I got a bridge to show you, funny. He has given tax credits to big corps. and hasn't got much to show for it. Have you looked at the debt lately? I think you may be fooling yourself.

This is Ontario, Any election bribe, spending scandal or rights violation that Harper has pulled can be trumped by The Ontario Liberals. Harper is just at the disadvantage that the RCMP is better at investigating compared to the OPP

Every corporations is fully subsidized by government in China. The competition is so high for corporations that if you're not fully committed to subsidizing them, they wouldn't even consider coming to Canada to do business.

You really have no idea of how this world works.

So we should do away with human rights and become communist? I really want to show you that bridge.

That's interesting in light of the fact the OPP is now investigating the RCMP for illegally shredding files.

Let us see how long it takes them compared to deleting emails

We are a sinking ship. We can sink it faster, If that's what you want. We can't compete on a global stage.

That's not going to change. We would have to scrap any idea of environmental protection. A lot of labor laws would have to drop.

I think we are way to soft. There is no way we can compete. Will have to all go back to being farmers.

So, go to China. I suspect by your comments you've never been.

I don't think they would let me immigrate with my family and wife.

If Canada joined the USA we could compete globally.

I assume you must be talking Hillary Cinton?

Yeah......go with that.

Hey aren't a few OPP officers being investigated by the RCMP.

It would seem to be a race.

Oh Ok, I thought you were on about Hillary's deal with emails. This is a nothing more than a tempest in a teapot, compared to the RCMP shredding files that were under a FOI order, and then retroactively changing the law and trying to hide it in yet another snowstorm omnibus bill disguised as a budget.

Because the Ontario Liberals are sooooo clean and transparent

Thee liberals own the OPP. Remember the police union during the election.

On the contary, politicians bringing in people to wipe computers in a multibillion dollar scheme to get re-elected is a hell of a lot more important than some error riddled registry files being deleted despite some wack job from the far left putting in AI demands for information.

So you're fine with hiding illegal activity by the government and the national police force simply by retroactively changing laws. Gotcha. Oh well, more fodder for the attack ad industry.

Never claimed I was ok with it. This thread is about the Ontario Liberals and you brought up the Harper scandals. I pointed out that this is Ontario and we are cursed with a government just as corrupt if not more so than the Federal government. I lean toward more so but that is my biased coming out.
