Topaz Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 In England today, it was announced that Prince William is a father of a daughter and many British are hoping he would name it after his mother, only time will tell. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-32562117 Quote

WWWTT Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 I had this debate before on this site about people's right's in China verses those in Canada. One issue that comes up is voting for our political leaders. Wait for it.... Some people go a step further, arguing that we shouldn't just pay less attention to the majestic goings-on, we should do away with the non-democratically-elected head of state altogether -- even if their role is largely ceremonial. Over at Gawker, Hamilton Nolan published an impassioned plea for the monarchy to end, likening it to the mafia and saying it siphons needed revenue away from millions of unemployed Britons, or any number of other, more worthy causes. But this of course is in the UK. And we're in Canada we elect our head of state! Oh wait, what? http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2013/07/is-the-british-royal-family-worth-the-money/278052/ At least in China, the people don't watch and gossip about their future head of states when they are born! WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! Total fail of the moderation on this site! That reminds me, never ask Greg to be a business partner! NEVER!

WWWTT Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Millions of humans are born every day. Why is this one so special? Because it is possibly the new head of state for more than one country! Argus Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Around WW2 or just before, China got rid of their monarchy system. And people in China can protest and debate/contribute to their government. Try that in Montreal China has a monarchy in all but name. The bluebloods in China are the elites of the Communist Party, and have absolute power. As for your ludicrous statement that people are free to protest, it's simply another indication you know absolutely nothing about China.
