kimmy Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Mohamed Elmasry told various media outlets that Israelis above the age of 18, – civilian and those dressed in military uniform – are legitimate targets for Palestinian suicide bombers, because they've all served in the Israeli army. CBC article Oops. Needless to say, he's been misunderstood. Dr. Elmasry, did not, does not, and will not condone the widely-held Palestinian view that any form of armed resistance against civilians that includes suicide bombing constitutes a legitimate military operation against the Israeli occupation, and not a terrorist activity.Within the context of discussion on the show, Dr. Elmasry was presenting not his own views -- but those of a significant segment of Palestinians under occupation."I sincerely regret that my comments were misunderstood and, as a result, caused offense," he said today. The comments were made on "The Michael Coren Show". -kimmy Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

caesar Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 The man should be arrested and deported if he is an immigrant. This is obviously a hate crime and appears to incite terrorism. He made other sickening comments, too. Quote
caesar Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 This was not the same person I was thinking of; we have two of these suddenly coming out promoting hate. This is the person I was referring too. VANCOUVER — Hate-crime investigators and counterterrorism forces are investigating a Muslim leader in British Columbia who laced his Islamic lectures with racial slurs against Jews.He also urged his followers to go to ''the front lines'' to seek martyrdom in a jihad.Sheik Younus Kathrada, who has the reputation of being a moderate Muslim leader, made no secret of his feelings, delivering his lectures openly at a small Vancouver mosque, then posting tape recordings on the Dar Al-Madinah Islamic Society website. Newfie Canadian Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 This is one of those situations where a clarification or retraction means squat. Whether or not he meant it, it will be a rallying cry for someone, and like takeanumber said, it's too bad. caesar Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 It's too bad he feels that way. I think this statement is too mild; like shrugging the shoulders. Quote

August1991 Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Here is the Dar Al-Madina site. The retraction makes for an interesting read. I take this one example: With regards to an apparent statement made by me (and reported by the Globe and Mail as being the word of the Prophet Muhammad-may peace and blessings be upon him) then this statement has been taken completely out of context. In reality, I was relating a prophecy, an event that the Prophet informed of that will take place near the end of time. In it, it is stated that in a battle that will ensue between the Jews (obviously not all, but a group of them) and the Muslims, even the stone and the tree will assist the Muslim by calling him and informing of a Jew hiding behind it. We in the West know this as the mumbo-jumbo of the whacky fringe of Christian fundamentalists. Anyone got a stuffed dinosaur avaliable? Quote
Bro Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 The statements by him could have easily prompted the RCMP to make a hate crime investigation. The situation is, we are bound to liberal ideals, and he can continue to promote hate,as long as the liberals are in power. Quote
caesar Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Bro if you read the article you would have noticed that he is being investigated for hate crimes and counter terrorism. Don't make false statements without investigating your idea Quote

Bro Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 You're right C.,but it is still an ineffective investigation,as long as the liberals are in power, this is what I was trying to convey. Quote
Bro Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Slavik,as yet,my opinoin about their connection can't be proved as factual or fiction. Don't be too smug about it right now though, there is still a multitude of intelligence yet to be reported about 9/11 and all events which have taken place since. Quote
caesar Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 Brto, you are just making things up. I suppose the Liberals are to blame for our lousy weather, too. The police investigation will take its course with no input from government. Just because there isn't a lot of media hoop la does not mean the wheels of justice are not rolling. Quote
Bro Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 I can say with almost complete certainty, this situation will go no where, except to say that he is free to speak his mind, because it follows liberal ideals, and no Canadians will ever protest, because most don't give a crap. Quote
Bro Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 Well,I'm out of diapers now.Does that make you feel better? Quote
caesar Posted October 31, 2004 Report Posted October 31, 2004 By the time you are ready to go back into diapers; I hope you gain some insight into life and politics. The government in power is not to blame for everything from soup to nuts and that the wheels of justice grind slowly. too slowly. Quote
Bro Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 lol, It is not my insight that is the problem here. With my new glasses,I see just fine. I wish other Canadians would see things as they are,and stop making excuses for why they are this way. Quote
caesar Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 Well Bro; the excuses being made are by the BC Liberal (conservative) people so I guess you have changed your political outlook. hmmmm Quote
