Well this isn't a law yet. Just some hall monitor proposing it.

While that may be true, their exist rules already that impact any event serving alcohol.

Want to serve booze at a afternoon soiree for retired old ladies? Gottaq have Serve Smart certified people. They may only be serving wine or beer, but they have to have the Cert or no insurance, no permit.

But how often do events on city property have bars that would serve something like that?

If unfettered, probably most of them. If its a pay for bar (instead of open) then almost all of them likely do since the bar is the profit loss area of an event.

I'm thinking Street Events, Festivals, The Ex. Those aren't exactly places you go specifically to get bleepfaced.

Lots do sadly.

But you forget...weddings,raves,corporate events, stag and does , family reunions , fundraisers....most of which some idiots are there to get shitfaced and stupid.

Hey they can't stop kids killing themselves by picking up pills at raves.

Instead of starting a new thread every time someone who's taking home a government pay cheque proposes a law that's meant to protect us for our own good, I'll just post it here.

What's next, banning the White Russian? Rum and Coke? Bailey's?

People do this because it bleeps them up faster and for less. That's the goal! The whole idea of a night of drinking is something that would probably make these hall monitors quake.

In New York Bloomberg (the former mayor) tried to ban large-size sugary drinks. Shot down by State's highest Court.
