Michael Hardner Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Scientific American seems like a pretty good source. Thanks for posting that. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
WestCoastRunner Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 There is something that citizens of BC can do to help monitor Fukushima radiation on the B.C. Coast. Thanks to the great opportunities that crowdsourcing is providing (we don't need to look any further than the airline disaster off Malaysia), citizens of BC can now help in this research: "Scientists from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Mass., are calling on the public to collect data from B.C.'s oceans for a crowd-funded research project. The website ourradioactiveocean.org is recruiting "citizen scientists," ordinary people who can raise $600 for a home testing kit and then take water samples to return to Woods Hole for analysis." Here is more info on the project: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/fukushima-radiation-on-b-c-coast-measured-by-crowdsourcing-1.2552906 Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. GostHacked Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Do the math. It can't not work. You are peddling homeopathy. Wait ..what?? I am peddling homeopathy? Quote
TimG Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Wait ..what?? I am peddling homeopathy? One of the claims of homeopathy is that medicine gets stronger the more dilute it gets. Homeopathy is considered bunk because the preparations are so diluted it is impossible for there to be any physical effect. Your logic is just as irrational. Quote
GostHacked Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 One of the claims of homeopathy is that medicine gets stronger the more dilute it gets. I don't think you understand homeopathy in this context. Homeopathy is considered bunk because the preparations are so diluted it is impossible for there to be any physical effect. Your logic is just as irrational. Since I never touted anything homeopathic, I fail to see how you are making this conclusion? All I am saying is that dilution will not resolve this issue. Hundreds of thousands of barrels of radioactive waste was dumped into the oceans. Many are leaking. So now pipes run the waste directly into the ocean through long pipes. Eventually the dilution solution will fail because we are continually dumping radioactive waste into the oceans from every nuclear plant worldwide that is located near the oceans like Fukushima. TimG Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 All I am saying is that dilution will not resolve this issue.Exactly. You are saying, like homeopaths, that dilution has no effect on toxicity. It is nonsense when homeopaths say it and it is nonsense when you say it. Quote
GostHacked Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Exactly. You are saying, like homeopaths, that dilution has no effect on toxicity. It is nonsense when homeopaths say it and it is nonsense when you say it. No, the reasons are that radiation had been continually leaking into the ocean through various means for over 30 years now. So it has been culminating for those years, and now we have a lot more added with Fukushima. You can't dilute if you are always polluting. Quote
