maplesyrup Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 October 02, 2004 Leader's Levee with Carole James and Jack Layton Join Jack Layton, Carole James and our new MPs, along with members of the Federal Council of the Federal NDP, to celebrate and build on the exciting future of the NDP. Reception: Saturday, October 2, 2004, 6 pm at the Gallery Room Empire Landmark Hotel and Conference Centre 1400 Robson Street, Vancouver It is fascination to watch the transformation taking place within the NDP both federally, and provincially in BC. With the additional 1,000,000 votes in the last federal election, and Jack Layton, MP, about to take his place in Parliament, combined with the BC New Democrats amazin' rebound in the polls, the New Democrats are definitely on a roll. A lot of this renewed energy for the left-of-centre party is attributable to Jack Layton's leadership. Watch for the impact of the James-Layton connection, together with the NDP's fabulous entreprenneurial candidate in the upcoming Surrey Panarama Ridge, BC by-election, where the Campbell Liberals took 58% of the vote last election. Layton's charisma, combined with well thought out progressive policies, is continuing to attract more and more people, and voters, to the NDP ranks. maplesyrup Posted October 2, 2004 Author Report Posted October 2, 2004 How many others think that attractive NDP candidate Jagrup Brar looks a lot like john Travolta? Jagrup Brar and the NDP will stand up for Surrey God, an entreprenneurial type, combined with movie star looks, and great progressive policies, where no one is left behind. What more could the voters in Surrey want? Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France

Big Blue Machine Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Jack Layton with movie star looks what? Quote And as I take man's last step from the surface, for now but we believe not too far into the future. I just like to say what I believe history will record that America's challenge on today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow. And as we leave the surface of Taurus-Littrow, we leave as we came and god willing we shall return with peace and hope for all mankind. Godspeed the crew of Apollo 17. maplesyrup Posted October 3, 2004 Author Report Posted October 3, 2004 Layton resembles Bugs Bunny as for charissma - where? I see another right wing intellectual has joined the group. You mst have spent lots of time thinking up what to say for your post. The guy with the movie star looks is the NDP Surrey Panorama Ridge candidate Jagrup Brar - looks a lot like John Travolta. maplesyrup Posted October 3, 2004 Author Report Posted October 3, 2004 Jack Layton said tonight, Tuesday he takes his tiny desk in the big House of Commons, and good things will come out of small packages. Great performance this evening to an obviously partisan crowd but with impact: Martin's answer to Canada not participating in Bush's Iraqi misadventures, is to join his Star Wars scheme. Canada must atone for its sins. Time to rock & roll folks - you ain't seen nothing yet! Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. caesar Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Re: Brar. He looks okay but hardly a movie star "looks" Where did he get the red hair???? Out of a bottle. Anyhow lets just hope he is honest and fair minded; much more attractive features for a politician and much harder to find. Vander Zalm was fairly good looking but turned out to be fairly crooked. Big Blue Machine Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Martin and Layton aren't good looking in my opinion. Harper is better but not much better. Duceppe looks like Galom from lord of the rings. Quote And as I take man's last step from the surface, for now but we believe not too far into the future. caesar Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Martin is an old man; looks ok for his age; Layton probably was fairly handsome in his hayday. Harper even looks as cold hearted as he acts. No compassion or happiness in his facial expressions. Bush looks and acts like an nit wit. He is definitely a figurehead for this Cheney ruled government in the USA. Quote

I dont think Surrey residents care much for Layton. Speaking of ethnic manipulation, I wonder how much of the Ujah's turning Liberal is going to affect Surrey ridings. There is also no point putting NDP MLA into the assembly if all he does is to clap at everything Joy says if he gets elected. No one listens to her anyways. And I dont like Jack too much, no offense.
