Q1) is ambiguous - not really fair to give it to kids unless they are taught to expect ambiguous questions. More importantly, you want to teach kids technique so there should have been a way to get two equations with two unknowns so it could be solved without guess work.

Q2) is nonsense. My sympathy to the children who got it.

Q4) The G&M answer is wrong (they forgot the loose change).

Q1 is actually ok, it's just that the constraint allows for more than one possible solution. That is, the solution is not unique. Not really a problem. The equations to be applied are:

3m + 2n = 18, m =/= 0, n=/=0

Furthermore, one can also infer that since the total number of wheels is even, then the number of tricycles must also be even. That question is listed as grade 3, so they're not doing algebra yet, so it makes sense that the solution would be done via trial and error (i.e. guess and check), a technique that is often legitimately used in all levels of math.

Q2 is indeed complete nonsense.

For Q4, I think it was implied in the first part of the question that Sandeepa only took complete rolls to the bank.

For Q2, the wording is completely retarded. I assume that, first off, they want 472/5, not 5/472. I think what they're talking about with this "groups" stuff is, 472 is 4 groups of 100, 7 groups of 10, and 2 groups of 1. So, using "groups" to divide 472 by 5, you'd get 4x100/5 + 7*10/5 + 2/5. So when they say write zero in the 100 position and exchange the 100s for 10s, I think what they mean is perform the division as 0x100/5 + 47*10/5 + 2/5.

What neither she nor Sun Boy mentioned was that everything in Agenda 21 is voluntary. Nobody is compelled to do anything, and so the idea that the UN is using Agenda 21 to take away our sovereignty falls flat on its face. It's just the latest fetish of the same people who've been paranoid about "one world government" for much longer than Agenda 21 has existed.
