Uh...no. I suggest you give a quick review of the actual events of the Korean War rather than what you think you know.

Thanks again for proving my point with the link!

Your the greatest!I like debating with someone who always like to prove they are wrong!

Best read it again. Pay attention for the word 'Pusan'.

Read it again, and pay close attention to those who helped South Korea!

You forgot what we were debating.Or maybe you never knew in the first place?

Don't worry, you helped prove my point so we'll let it slide.

Regardless NK still exists so this war ended in a stalemate.

Your claim that the war turned around as soon as the US entered is just wrong. Simple as that. This does not take into account the desperate fighting by anyone who could hold a gun...looking at the cooks and other non-coms...around Pusan which led to MacArthur doing his thang. But you'll disagree just to disagree.

False!

The US was always there,as an occupier.

But they needed re-enforcements and without US involvement, game over!

The claim implied was that NK would not survive without China(true and I will not contest).

But the south needed the US or they would have lost to the North!(this is my claim)

And until more re enforcements were sent, the south was losing.(and you provided the link, thank you)

Therefore you have the north and the south.

Thanks again for pointing out that the US helped out SK and without their involvement they would have lost.

Allied KIA Casualties @ Pusan:

South Korea: 40,000+

United States: 5000

The fact remains that the Battle of Pusan happened even if you don't believe it did.

Where did I say that it did not happen?

Maybe you should try breathing in a paper bag,I think that will help.

I think you have a very confused idea of the conduct of the Korean War...a war where many Canadians as well as other Allied forces fought and died. It wasn't a cake walk and the NK were never defeated.

In a nut shell....

Battle of Pusan: The worst out and out sh*tkicking the US had taken in a long, long, long time. It was as if they were playing the Japanese in some cruel remake of the Battle of Okinawa. As mentioned, cooks and clerks were forced to grab weapons. Casualties were beyond horrendous for the numbers of US troops involved...let alone the glorified police force that was the ROK's army. No tanks...planes...heavy weapons until much later in the war for them. The Army of the DPRNK was superbly equipped and trained by the Soviets.

Battle of Inchon: MacArthur arrives to turn things around in a brilliant and very difficult amphibious assault. He cut across Korea isolating the NK Army attacking Pusan. This forced a general retreat of NK forces which turned into a rout. MacArthur pursued.

The Yalu: MacArthur chases the NK to the Chinese border and muses about invading China. Meets an angry Truman at Wake Island to discuss the Chinese. China, already itching to do SOMETHING attacks UN forces first and the 2nd big UN retreat begins with numerous forces getting trapped behind lines. Unsan, Chosin, Onjong all occurred during this phase. MacArthur ultimately canned.

The 38th: The retreat halts around the old starting lines...a WW1 like war continues until 1953.

You: Ya actually the NK were winning the war until the US helped SK.

Me: Unless you count Pusan and all that went with it. The US was there but certainly not winning. Five thousand dead and many more than that wounded was a wake-up call.

You: You can't be right...therefore you're wrong.

Sums it up.

Hey I like the last one there, where did you find that?

North Korea was always a threat in my view. Way more so than Iran. I look at NK as some kind of 'wild card' meaning you are not quite sure what to expect from the isolationist country.

North Korea is a threat only to South Korea, they are not a wild card they will go as far as China is willing to let them go...once China says stop they may huff and puff all they want but they will go back in their corner and sulk.

Exactly, the war turned around once Chesty Puller made his entrance and liberated Seoul……..

You're akin to a Soviet era history book where WW2 begins after the Battle of Stalingrad.

Hey what's your problem???

You don't like my opinion, just say so!

Unless you want to me to continue reporting this!

Wow so sensitive... your entire post was basically the US is big and bad while China is the good old boys that look out for the little guy... I think calling it BS pretty much summarized what I thought of your opinion on this. I love how you are into censorship...someone calls you out on your bs you cry about it...keep up the good work reporting those who disagree with you and I will remember that I need to treat you as one of the special little people lest you go cry in the corner...

And they lost all on their own even with material and combat support from the USSR...and they want to give it another try against the US only they stayed in the 50's and 60's while SK and the US advanced in to the 21st century.

NK is the puppet of China.

Ever heard of good cop/bad cop?

This is all because of Japan.

But don't worry, the US will set Japan straight,China will be happy and NK will eventually go away.

How's that threat of Iran having nukes and nuking Israel going by the way? What ever happened to that?

WWWTT

All about Japan? Has is been all about Japan for the last two decades or is this another lesson of the history that never was?
