The bulk of trading and economic relations with the US are already covered under the free trade agreement, which the US tends to ignore at will. Any damage Parrish could possibly do to relations has already been done, in the name of unabashed self interest on the US side. Maybe its time that Canada stand ups and demands that the US negotiate in good faith, rather than try to salvage the crumbs out of repeatedly violated agreements.

The attacks of September 11, 2001 are just another bit of the ongoing violence in the continual clash between the rich and the poor in the world.

This has been happening all around the planet for a long time, but just because it has now happened in North America doesn't mean the world is going to come to a stop.

People need to look at the root causes for violence, rather than these knee-jerk reactions that solve absolutely nothing.

What disturbs me most about September 11 is that the fascist tedencies of our governments use these occasions to curtail our rights. This is done by promoting paranoia, and by spreading fear and hatred.

I would disagree strongly with any assertion (or assumption) that the 64% who did not vote Liberal are "intellectual morons." In my opinion, only those who voted Bloc or Conservative are that.

As for Parrish, I have no way of judging her competence as a Parliamentarian. I do applaud her, however, for what she said about Bush and America. Though her assessment of them was somewhat inaccurate - not too far off with respect to Bush - she sent a wakeup call to the american administration that was sorely needed. She put it on notice that the Canadian people are not all sheep or sheep lovers.
