This is a nice story about economic cooperation between the two countries. Of course, the left in both Canada and America oppose this project. Quote

bleeding heart Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 No big deal....hundreds of thousands of Canadians have sought and found work in the United States. Don't be mean to the mindless and boring patriotism. Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007

bleeding heart Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 What? Please clarify your attempted insult. Thank-you. I was suggesting that the "Canada is better" theme is implied (at least implied) in Kraychik's post, and that I find it a boring subject. I didn't take it that way at all....just continuing cross border employment. Americans at the oil patch is quite expected....they helped to make it possible in the first place! kraychik Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 I was suggesting that the "Canada is better" theme is implied (at least implied) in Kraychik's post, and that I find it a boring subject. That wasn't implied at all. What's implied is that there's a good degree of economic cooperation between the two nations and that it's something to be appreciative of. I don't think this forum needs your non-existent interpretation services given the fact that we all speak English. Quote

Topaz Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Are these EX- military? I have no problem with outside workers coming in IF, there are no Canadians to fill the bill but what about US civilians? There aren't any oil workers that need a job? I have more of a problem with the US military part than I do with US civilians. What about Canadian military? Quote

Did you have any problem with Americans and American capital being used to develop tar sands oil, transport it, refine it, and sell it in the largest market on earth? but what about US civilians? There aren't any oil workers that need a job? I have more of a problem with the US military part than I do with US civilians. What about Canadian military? Oh sure...we always ask Canadian IT workers coming to the USA if they are ex-military baby killing war mongers. If they are, we give them a hiring bonus! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

As a after thought, I guess this is one way for the US military personnel who doesn't and didn't believe the Iraq war to come to canada to work and never to return to the US. As far as the sands, I don't care who developed them, people just want the pollution of them to be toned down. Quote

But Canada's dirty filthy polluting of our sacred mother earth Gaeia continues unabated. By the way, how is that nasty coal burning Nanticoke shut down going? Cough-cough.... cybercoma Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 I guess environmental protection doesn't matter, as long as you're employing military vets. What mindless emotional drivel. Quote
