Topaz Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Well, if its any indication of how Hudak handles money, the PC have a 6 million debt and the other two are lower but they are all in debt. No one can afford an election, so does it go to the NDP and PC to form a government? Quote
madmax Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 so does it go to the NDP and PC to form a government? It could except for one thing. Hudak said he would not work with another party in a minority situation and would govern as if he had a Majority. He also said he would not become the government if his party had less seats then the Liberals under any circumstances. He never misses an opportunity to miss and opportunity. Mr Hudak role is that of Captain Dunsel Quote

Mr Hudak role is that of Captain Dunsel I thought we all learned from Joe Clark that is an easy way never win government or lose it super fast. You have to pretend you are going to work with other parties at least. Quote
Boges Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 The election is off. If there had been one I think McGuinty was in a strong position, even if he's behind a bit in polling. Hudak was set for a majority government heading into the last election and McGuinty just missed a third majority, despite his unpopularity. There was talk last summer that the Ontario Liberals would be in third place after the election. Don't know where you got that info. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1165754--ontario-budget-ndp-s-horwath-wants-more-from-mcguinty-before-backing-budget?bn=1 Horvath is demanding more from McDalton. Boges Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 So it looks like McDalton rolled over on much of Horvath's demands the big one being 2% tax hike on people making $500,000 plus. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1166296--ontario-budget-mcguinty-and-horwath-in-last-ditch-talks-to-prevent-election?bn=1 No Election for Ontario. I don't see how the OLP lasts another year though. How is a similar budget going to pass next year. Horvath will simply ask for more. Quote
capricorn Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 So it looks like McDalton rolled over on much of Horvath's demands the big one being 2% tax hike on people making $500,000 plus. So the new surtax will increase revenue by over $400M annually all of which Dalton says will be applied toward the debt. That would mean the NDP won't see any of that money? I don't trust Dalton. I recall the secret pay raise Dalton gave the public service workers to keep "labour peace". There's more to this deal than he and Horwath are letting on. Boges Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 Maybe the PCs should look at negotiating with them then. The Paul Martin Liberals did something similar this with Jack Layton. Got defeated soon after. Quote
