Topaz Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 You asked for it. Hey, remember that TV program? Anyway this is what I found about the first attack ad in Canada and elsewhere. http://this.org/blog/2011/03/09/attack-ads-canada/ Quote
RNG Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 A sad fact of life in Canadian, American and British politics these days. And I don't comment on other countries because I don't have the knowledge of them. Quote The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.
PIK Posted March 23, 2012 Author Report Posted March 23, 2012 Kim campbell, I remember that one and it was brutal. But how can the ad against rae be a attack ad, when it discusses his record. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

There already was a thread going 2) To get you back to your topic thread title... in Canada as a country... You can start here.. http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/023/013/023013-7040.1-e.html Political Cartoons were the medium of attack ads as many people couldn't read.. and Newsprint was the medium. Attack Ads can be traced back to the Romans if you must.. probably Greek ones too... I believe as long as their has been a democracy and a media.. there have been attack ads. Quote
