BC Liberals are to the right of Harper on a lot of issues.

I'm not sure about that, but they have really ticked off the voter. Bringing in the HST the way they did, and under the false pretense that it would be revenue neutral, has probably sealed their fate. Enough of the middle and right are turning to the provincial Conservative party to give the NDP a win come the next election, in 2013. Their heavy handed approach to the education and medical systems got old about 5 years ago.

The NDP is to the left of the Communist party on a lot of issues.

Not sure if you are offended because I called the BC Liberals super Conservative

or........

If you are offended because you think my summation of the BC Liberals is saying Harper isn't the most Conservative in the country.

Um...

Goofy hyperbole aside,I'm sure you could back that up?

The BC NDP is the most left-wing NDP in Canada

The BC Liberals are the most right-wing Liberals in Canada

And the BC Conservatives are the most right-wing Conservatives in Canada

These are facts that can be backed up, not though silly conspiracy links, not even though the MSM, but though reading their very own platforms.

PEI's NDP is the most left wing because they have nothing to win.

Are you referring to the island? Zing!

She was a supporter of Paul Martin.

Yeah I knew she had connections with the federal party that is why I'm a little confused with this Manning thing.

I didn't know they appealed to that many.

Well that's been there only option since the collapse of the Social Credit Party. Even with the Conservative Party of BC making gains people like Stockwell Day still support the BC Liberals.

I would say that there's a good chance the Manning Centre had her speak to make her appeal more to Conservative supporters because a large chunk has left the party over the last year. While Christy Clark is not likely the first choice of many conservatives she's still better than the alternative which is Adrian Dix and the NDP. The BC Conservatives have no chance of getting organized enough before next year's election to be a threat for government, so at this point they are only taking support away from the Liberals and allowing the NDP to form a majority government, even though they haven't gained any support since 2009.

That pretty much sums it up……….I think the result of next years election will be determined by the outcome of the BC teacher’s contract battle currently going on……..

I presume this was a joke. I was an executive member in the PEI NDP and can attest they are not any more or less left-wing than other Atlantic NDP parties. (Especially after my years trying to forcefully drag the party into the centre)

You are wrong again. The socialist Caucus is quite prominent within the NDP rank and file.

No I have been to convention they can't even get one of their resolutions enough votes to ever get it debated. The Socialist Caucus makes up about 1% of the membership. You live in a fantasy land created in your head with communist around ever turn.

1%. That's laughable. More like 40% of NDP membership leans to the Socialist Caucus.

If they had 40% wouldn't someone other than Mulcair be leading? Wouldnt there at least be a far-left candidate in the running? Or wouldn't at least one of the left-wing in the race be up there?

That link you posted had a picture of Ashton. If she had the support of the 'socialist wing'(ie 40%) wouldnt she be doing much better than dead last in the race? Isn't she even behind the non-sitting pharmacist from rural NS that no one ever heard of before this?

I would think that since I started this thread to learn about some conservative politics in BC that you wouldn't really hijack it. I would think that you would rather me learn about Clark etc than wasting my time reading nonsense. Didn't you start the 'greasey left' thread for that?
