I would hope Conservatives come to their senses and not allow Dix to become premier. NDP support seems to be maxed out in the low 40's in BC so as long as the right of centre stick together they can win the next election, and then work at ousting Clark before 2017.

If they vote Clark back in she will go nowhere. Conservatives would be better off voting green hoping for a minority legislature and having the NDP for government for 2 years while the Liberals or whatever right wing party rises from the ashes rebuilds. That is me speaking in a nonpartisan way BTW I would not like to see that in the least. The NDP do not govern well as a minority I personally think, they are to willing to compromise most of their values.

C[c]onservatives still know though that they have a conservative finance minister, and a premier that is being more conservative. I don't see why they'd want to strategically vote to try and have a minority NDP government, it'd be way to risky because the NDP do well when the right is split and could definitely form a majority. The NDP are in majority territory now even though they've gained little to no support since 2009. The NDP governments had less support in 1990's then they do now.

They should plug their noses, vote Christy and try to get her out in a leadership review.

She would never leave under a leadership review, Liberals love power more they like good governance. If it is Christy or the NDP I don't know where Conservatives will go but fact is Natural gas prices are going to keep falling so there will be no balanced budgets in the near future with out cuts or tax hikes.

How about with legalized taxed marijuana?

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

It is an option however you would cause a constitutional crisis because the feds just passed some pretty strict drug laws that BC is forced to abide by.

You do know that of all governments, NDP governments get the lowest settlements among unions. The NS NDP held their teachers to a 1% rise over three years, and got 1% from doctors as well. I know you hate when facts don't line up with your faith but sometimes you need to go with the facts.

Interesting how you are pretending that that is somehow relevant.

Tell you what, link to your factual site that states the BC NDP intend to pay BC teachers 1% over the next 3 years.

The government should do something.

If she didnt step down after being unable to get anadequate level support in a leadership review I highly doubt her caucus would put up with it.

I'd love to see some more info. on that.

And the NS NDP settlements with nurses etc.

As would I........I think the only BC Provincial Government to reach a settlement with the BCTF in the last 40 years, sans job action, were the Liberals.

The Nurses went to binding arbitration and got something like 5%, which is a tough pill for the government to swallow but because of the savings they got on the doctors, teachers and anyone else they negotiated with over the last 2 years they are on track to balance the budget next year. All they had to do was go to these organizations show them the books and explain to them the situation and they were all reasonable and ready to sacrifice to help the province. Although I am sure it means during good times they will want more but that is what good times are for isn't it?

I think if you look at a History of NDP governments you will find on average unions take lower settlements then with other governments.

As long as we ignore 1998 when the teachers agreed and ratified the governments proposal right?

However you are just repeating the Liberal talking point which is repeated in the house so what should I expect.

The NDP vote remains more efficient than the BCL vote. Even the BCC vote seems to be highly efficient. That means that BCL would need a 5 point lead to win even a minority over the NDP.

There was only a 4 point difference in 2009 and a 14 seat gap.

I have a question. Why do people not like Christy Clark? Every time I see her on TV, she seems extremely bright, and very competent.

BC rail is a start. I remember her running for the Leadership also promising an election to approved her by the BC public right away. How long ago was that again? What happened to that election that was one of her key promises when running for the leadership.

You're not really the person who's going to support her anyway though. For centrist and even people somewhat to the right, I don't see a problem with her.

I can't stand her! Everytime he speaks she drives me nuts.

However, she is not unpopular. The fact that she is or has been a federal Liberal has alienated staunch conservatives so they've just simply found another option.

Really? She's so articulate and all of her ideas seem well thought out.

Yah but those are reasons why people don't like her to start. She has the stink of the old Liberal party and Gordon Campbell all over her. Maybe that is not fair to her but it is true.

She has actually been criticized for announcing policy without it being well thought out. Last year she made a bit of a fool of herself after announcing two different senate reform ideas within 24 hours, one being totally off the wall. I remember seeing an article at the time comparing her to Gordon Campbell, and it said how he never spoke on issues without having the policy well thoughtout but she had tended to do the opposite. A bit of a rooke mistake probably and she will, or probably has, learnt from that mistake.

But the thing is she's really not that unpopular.

She does have an approval rating that is some 14 points lower then the Leader of the NDP, and half of BC hates the NDP no matter who leads it.
