Have any of these politicians openly talked about their religion during this leadership race? just wondering

I saw an interview of Paul Dewar near the beginning of the campaign in which he talked about the role it played in his life. He says he got it from his mother who was also in politics and quite religious. I volunteered on his campaign during the 2011 election and he brought it up from time to time.

Fortunately being to vocal about religion here can end a political career unlike the US where it is mandatory if you want any political office.

Since people wonder why he's a Sikh, Martin Singh has of course. But he has done nothing to push his religion on people or attribute any of his positions to his religion.

doesn't seem like they've been repeatedly talking about their religions .. once is enough, I can respect that, Singh is a good man, he's just too obsessed with pharmacare but I'm glad he hasn't been pushing his religion on anyone

Don't ban me bro. Oh behave, I'll behave. I'll be a good little boy.

I thought the video introduction he had a few hours ago was the best presentation of the day. I really like Martin Singh and I think he has done an outstanding job getting his message about pharmacare out there. He's well aware he's not going to win, but took the opportunity, as a pharmacist no less, to bring the nation's attention to a worthy issue.

Thanks, cybercoma. Those are my issues with MMP as well.

FPTP is still the best of a bad system. MP's are at least accountable to some group of voters and you don't wind up with a ridiculous number of parties.
  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Both things that are overcome with the system I recommended.
