waldo Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 interesting... the way you've presented your post, it reads like part of the post is your input interspersed with a quote from a linked-to external reference. I note your complete post, verbatim, is simply a cut&paste from DailyKos - here: in any case, there's a veritable cottage-industry of study/analysis dedicated to the, "destructive cultural and social consequences" of "Barbie"... in western society. You didn't need to go all the way to Iran! Quote
kactus Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Nicely put Waldo! I must admit when I read his post it sounded to me as if he is giving his own input into this...Very deceptive indeed! Quote

GostHacked Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 GI Joe for her? Understandable. Both are horrible as 'role model' toys. I'd rather give my kinds something constructive to play with. Lego is pretty awesome in that regard. Quote

jbg Posted January 17, 2012 Author Report Posted January 17, 2012 But as you say...you do not have one. What if your daughter wanted a Barbie and showed no interest in your awesome Lego idea? Then give her the "Sara" doll. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Back during my undergrad I worked a few summers in a park. There was a bunch of old junky stuff made out of old tires and car parts, but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Then one summer we got a new manager with an expanded budget -- out went the old junky stuff and in came these contractors to build new, state-of-the-art playground equipment. I don't think the kids enjoyed it anymore than the old junky stuff, but I cringed a few years later when I learned how much cadmium and other heavy metals were discovered to be leeching from the treated lumber used in the new park equipment. waldo Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Why don't you look at the time of the making of the posts, you illiterate? I think NYCNDP cloned off me. actually, I did check post times... only because I recognized the diary title of the KOS member's immediately preceding diary also directly matched the title of one of your earlier thread titles - here vs. here: KOS tags carry specific direct reference to time zone; MLW appears not to. Additionally, posting times presented on MLW reflect differences depending on whether one is logged in and what respective time zone profile setting is chosen. MLW does appear to carry a text based title date attribute that 'might' presume on GMT; however, without knowing the intricacies of how timestamps have been created on either site (KOS or MLW), I can't speak definitively in this regard. The same way that you've just expressed that you "think" you were cloned, when I'm logged off with cache flushed, I think timestamp comparisons are suspect, depending on which time zone is associated with your respective posts... and whether like consistency can be assumed in how the respective KOS timestamps were created. In any case, I will defer to your implication that you "think" you were cloned. What is definitive is that 2 thread posts on both sites are like; one identical, the other carrying a like title and partial exact content. I'm trying to show a balance of admiration and respect for Iran, not denigrate them. I've not noticed the balance attempt - I don't believe snarc counts. I will endevour to look more closely in the future for said balance attempt. Quote

You each appear to have some association/affinity to 'NYC'. as for "Rubble", well... hey now, that same KOS NYCNDP guy shows up there to... and lo and behold, another like post shows up on both boards, MLW & Babble: here vs. here Quote
