This video explains the Arab-Israeli situation to "T".

The Arabs do not want peace. If a two-state solution is what they wanted they got it in 1923, with Transjordan, more than half of the Palestine mandate, being hacked off. The objective is simple; make Israel non-viable.

I think only in the last couple of decades have some Arabs/Palestinians been able to accept the prospect of a 2-state solution.

Many still don't of course. This is what has shot them in the foot many times in the past and left them with less land now than they would have, ie: if they accepted and tried to work out a deal on the Peel Plan or 1947 UN partition plan. But Israel wasn't game for those either, and they've benefited from it in terms of land grabs.

But they'll only accept one with two game-stoppers: 1) all of the Old City of Jerusalem; and 2) the "right of return" of unlimited numbers to what would be left of Israel, with no corresponding right for Jews.

Israel was willing ot accept the 1947 U.N. partition. Don't know offhand what the Peel Plan was. The Arabs responded to the 1947 partition with war. And what about the 1923 carveup of Palestine?
