olp1fan Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) AW your country still thinks the terrorists came into the U.S from Canada because your politicians have told them so and they had not retracted their comments when they were corrected That sums up the U.S perfectly to me I see no reasons why the U.S should not be criticized their government lies like no other for instance during the 1980s The Soviets shot down a South Korean airplane on Soviet soil ...U.S aired some of the black box tape on TV...and cut out the parts where the Soviets asked 3 times who they were ...all silent three times...they did not air those beginning seconds to the world and the world thought it was deliberate when the Soviets tried making contact with the Airplane multiple times ..well everyone knows what would happen next in most countries given that situation ...shot down kaboom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_Air_Lines_Flight_007 I can spout out a million examples of the U.S government lying to the world while you AW can only do so not even a handful of times about Canada Edited December 11, 2011 by olp1fan Quote
Guest Manny Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 So you didn't refute what I said because you don't disagree with what I said. So instead you said this: "It's a lot of work. [defending my backwards nation] One should not feel personally responsible, or obligated to excuse one's government, or nation. Unless of course you feel it is your personal mission somehow, to right any and all misconceptions people hold. Good luck with that. Your bones will be dust, and the criticisms will continue" So even though you don't disagree with what I said, apparently you see what I said as my feeling the need to defend my nation, obligated to excuse my government....... Weird. No, I don't disagree, categorically at least. You said it's impossible to know, and that is true. That does not mean it's wrong to criticize. Like, if these were lies, if no useful intelligence was given, the government should explain that. It's in the report from the 911 commission. That was in the link I gave in my earlier post, which you said it's impossible to know the truth. It's not really weird, I only speculated that you feel an obligation to right every misconception about the United States. And I said it's a lot of work, you'll never make any real progress. As you know, some people feel a need to blame the United States anyway, even in the face of hard evidence to the contrary. It's healthy to have someone to blame, for things we can do nothing about. Like you, you blame me! Haha Now, before you pick on this point, I try to have some evidence for things I believe. And if contrary evidence is given, I may accept it. Depends on the source. But I won't excuse my government, just because they "made mistakes". People should lose their jobs over that. I sure would deserve to lose my job if I screwed up big time. Why not the people at the top? Quote
