The NDP are saying that Clements took the "sures" out of the comments he made at the committee hearing on the G8 and Tony says he didn't. The more important part of this is the statement he made when asked if he could give the committee the document/s, Charlie Angus wanted from him and Clements reply was "sure". The Committee still has seen those documents and this looks like another detainee document problem. After reading the following article, I wonder if Tony had two-tiered documents floating , one for show , one NOT to show. http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/curious%2Bcase%2Bmissing%2Bsures/5758759/story.html

I guess you did not read your own link:

NDP staffers have done a good job digging up information on this file and forcing Clement to account for himself, but they told me Wednesday that only two "sures" were removed from Hansard, suggesting a strong circumstantial case for political manipulation of the record.

I compared the documents side by side, though, and you can see an editor has cleaned up a lot of the text, removing lots of words from everybody's rambling speeches. Clement often begins his responses by saying "sure," a kind of verbal tic.

The editors removed some and not others, seemingly at random.

So Clement likely didn't alter the record, and likely the NDP got a little

Yeah, you can edit your transcripts but a "sure" is an absolute, it's not like it is an extra word like, um, okay

But having read the article, you would now agree that the NDPn staffers are liars, and the tone of the article shifts quite significantly as the author acknowledges that the editors of Hansard are not Tony Clement, and that they routinely edit lots of stuff and did so as per usual in this case.

probably wasn't clement, had to be one of his staffers

the only people that can do that is the MP and his staffers

but then again Clement told his staffer to get the U.S to put Canada on the list of countries that violate copyrights with Russia, China, Iran

so I don't give a f*** if he isn't guilty this time

this man has told his staffers to do devious shit before

wouldn't put it past him again

Having read the article I realize it is an opinion piece and the author states he doesn't care how much money the conservatives waste in it. So really from that point on I really don't care what his OPINION is of his Opinion piece.

I see. You do not support due process, if he displeased you once he is automatically guilty of whatever you choose thereafter.

Right, and next time the politician is caught lying he can say, was a verbal tick.

I think you are just choking on the fact -not opinion- that the NDP staffers were caught lying.

Dude is the guiltiest man in the party, like I care what takes him down as long as it takes him down

Its like how OJ got away with murder but got taken down by trying to steal back his property

As are the bedwetting sensationalists who whine and fuss and spin every little possible thing into grand Tory conspiracies. What a boring thread.

The point is still a big yawn.

It's a total non issue, Clement has been cleared and is owed an apology.

Pork barreling is another issue, but an apology from the NDP for the baseless accusations and lies should be made.
