August1991 Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) This picture was pulled. These pictures are still up. Here's the youtube ad: ----- The ad campaign is good because it attracts attention but as a political statement, it seriously misses the point. Kissing bad people will not make them do good. Life is a little more complicated. Edited November 17, 2011 by August1991 Quote

Kissing bad people will not make them do good. Life is a little more complicated. The message I get from the ads is that Benetton is for male homosexuals. Since I'm not gay I guess I will be staying away from them. Argus Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 I think the ad campaign was somehow inspired by this photo which has nothing to do with homosexuality. Doesn't matter what inspired it. What matters to Benetton is that the majority of the publicity was on men kissing other men, and not particularly attractive men either. That's putting HOMOSEXUAL together with BENNETON CLOTHES in a lot of people's minds. Wear it." ----- BTW, Benetton is the Reitman of Italy. Edited November 18, 2011 by August1991 Quote

The association between a brand and ugly, old male homosexual behavior is not going to do anything to make the brand more attractive to anyone.
