Majority backs public funding for CBC, poll finds Exactly! cut the budget by 75% & let them be competitive. The CBC was built to provide radio (& later TV) to Canada in areas where it wasn't available because of economic reason. Satellite TV has killed that argument invalid as both services are available all over Canada. Quote
