When the Tories dealt with the Canadian lumber isssue, we lost 1 Billion $$, now with the AECL, they sold it for 15 mil plus SOME royalities on SOME ongoing projects BUT its going to cost the taxpayers another 360 Mil!! Then there's the ongoing F35, tha tmost countries are thinking 3x about buying it,even the US. So far when it comes to business, these Conservatives lost the "progressive" and lost their brains when it comes to making deals. http://www.canada.com/life/Feds+hook+million+sold+AECL+reactor+division/5654186/story.html

I can only conclude that Conservatives are fiscally irresponsible.

They don't save money, they spend differently. Tax cuts for wealthier citizens, cuts to services for the lower pay citizens, more jails to put the lower pay guys in when they turn to crime, etc.

Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.
