Topaz Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Tonight, since 1982, Detroit Mich. and Windsor On., will share in celebrating July 1st and July 4th with fireworks display. I've watched all of them on TV but I'm told its awesome in person. They play music to the display and last about an hour. I don't know anywhere else in Canada that this kind of celebration goes on between the two nations. Do any of you? Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 that's pretty neat. Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.
Guest American Woman Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 I think it's pretty neat, too. And thanks for the link, Topaz. Unfortunately I didn't read your post until today, but I have seen clips of the celebration on YouTube. Looks impressive, for sure! I've also heard that the Soo, Michigan and Soo, Ontario share a celebration this time of year - but haven't been able to find anything online to confirm it. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Fireworks always reminded me of the celebration of empire - of war - and a happy nod to the profits of war through some explosive non-sense. Quote
