Brad Wall will be glad Selinger won in MB. Selinger has been good for business in SK. Richardson's set up a canola crushing plant in Yorkton a few years back. Richardson's wanted to place that plant in western Manitoba, but due to unfriendly NDP policies, chose to move it to Yorkton, That is just one small example of why SK is booming and Manitoba is begging.

Smallc, it amazes me how little you truly know. Yes Jr is a Manitoba company. Makes you wonder why they would set up shop in Yorkton, when they really wanted to set up in western Manitoba.

Because some provinces have a theoretical ability to raise more tax revenue based on the size of their economy, their population, and where the average tax rates are located. A province can be booming and still be below the average. Pre recession, from 2006 to 2008, Manitoba had an economy that was either the fastest or near the tastes growing each year. Currently, we are growing above the average rate.

2 rail lines and highway 16. That's why louis Dreyfus is there too. Also dead centre of canola country. Bunge has comparable ones in Manitoba.

Since MB is doing so great, I expect they will be declining that extra federal cash any day now.

In any case, with that boom they will now be able to afford to pay workers a decent wage, which will increase federal taxes generated, which will reduce their longterm dependence on other provinces hard work.

I know that the legions of proud Manitobawnaians look forward to this proud moment of independence.

You do realize that Manitoba's dependence on equalization has actually been decreasing, I hope. Even when the Equalization portion of the transfers were increasing leading up to the recession, it was only because of the lag in data on economic performance.
