treehugger Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 I don't how many people were listening to the news a couple of weeks ago about McGuinty's new plan. He wants to have a green audit done on every house that is up for sale. It will cost you $300. Everything that is found "not green" you have to fix it before you sell it. This will put the sellers cost up so you have to charge more and the buyer has to pay more. Where is there any logical sense in this? (eg.) If the buyer buys a house and he wants new windows. he wants to pick them out not some cheapies that the seller had put in. McGuinty's spokesman said he is putting off this job until later. He must think he is actually going to win the election in October. He is a desperate person trying to pay off his huge debt. Also a very stupid man. Quote
Topaz Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 After watching Mike Holmes, I think they should come on the construction business and get theses guys who don't have a license to get one. It's horrible to see what happens to homeowners who get carpenters to do work for them only to find out, they have been had. Quote
MiddleClassCentrist Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Haven't heard anything about this plan... do you have a link? Quote Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.

I'm not impressed. More thievery by the gov. It isn't going through for a while but they plan on reopening the topic in January 2012. Makes me want to sell my house now. Quote

Some of it doesn't seem well thought out but some of it is good. I was happy to see the Becky project complete and increase the efficiency of the Niagara hydro plant. http://www.enviralment.ca/2011/05/17/boring-project-is-a-step-in-the-right-direction/ Quote

Still, it is a truly stupid idea in the first place. Quote I yam what I yam - Popeye
