You must not fully know Mr. Canada's history on these boards. Smallc was directing a jab at Mr. Canada, who's previously publicly hyperventilated over homosexuality, not at Baird.

If I recall, Mr C was hyperventilated over public sex and nudity, and hasn't he endorsed the NDP?

It is an inverted moral calculus that tries to persuade the world to demonize one state that tries its civilized best to abide in a difficult time and place, and rides merrily by the examples and practices of dozens of states and leaderships that drop into brutality every day without a twinge of regret or a whisper of condemnation. - Rex Murphy

But, of course, it's perfectly okay when a Conservative minister of the Crown does it. Right?

I have to say that Baird's angry man act doesn't irritate me nearly as much as the phony self-righteouess Ralph Goodale puts on with his underwear every morning. That perpetual look of outrage and indignation in every single interview got boring years ago.

You said it! That's how I feel about Goodale. And Brison too!

Among the Liberals, it's only Martha Hall who seem to try at honesty...and good manners!

Speaking of good manners, that's what's terribly wrong with the Liberals! They think rudely interrupting someone speaks, shouting and drowning out the rebutts of their opponent is actually...winning.

They don't know how disrespectful and irritating it is for viewers, and hosts of Power Play (Duffy, Clark etc.,) have had complaints about them. ESpecially Gerald Kennedy!

CBC Solomon and Barton had to be firm and put their feet down at times.

The Liberals behave like children in front of the cameras! Unruly. And that includes during Question Period - all preening for the cameras. Notice the chest puffing as they stand up to blast away - all with same tutored look of crocodile indignant posture and mock outrage!

You mean shouting and drowning out as in what Harper's trained seals do each day in the house or drowning out as in cheering in order to silence a question being asked of Harper by a member of the media?

Because if that's what you mean then I agree...how utterly rude.

“This is all about who you represent,” Mr. Dewar (NDP) said. “We’re (NDP) talking about representing the interests of working people and everyday Canadians and they [the Conservatives] are about representing the fund managers who come in and fleece our companies and our country.

There's a difference.

You just said the opposite: Baird's rapid-fire lies and falsehoods reminded you of Liberals, which indicates you see little to no difference in terms of actions and behaviour.

Ah mr. Canada, the branding nightmare of right leaning posters on here...

I was referring to Molly's own description - which is her own personal opinion.

To me, she is describing the Liberals.

The bs was flying at a rate of 6 or 7 outright falsehoods to a spittle-laced sentence, delivered as from a gattling gun, with no gaps left for questions or factual corrections.

Honest! He personifies all the things that make me so virulently anti-Harperite!

Funny how this evoke a mental image of posturing Liberals!

But of course the difference between the posturing Liberals and an angry Baird is that Baird walks the talk! Spittle-laced sentences from gattling gun or not, no posturing there! An angry Baird....is truly an angry Baird.

I see now. I thought you meant it as a "well, Baird may do that, but the Liberals do it too!" comment, rather than a "that's what the Liberals do, not Conservatives like Baird" assertion.

Baird walks the talk!

Except that he never did go over parliament and the governor general to the Canadian people, as he promised so emphatically in December 2008 to do.

The House became a zoo not because of the Conservatives! Political talk shows had to contend with complaints from viewers because of rude interruptions by Liberal panel (Gerald Kennedey was specifically named when Duffy was still host).

As for drowning out media bs....well what can I say?

That's the supporters finally fed up into action by biased media!

Oh, he's done far more than that. There have been many discussions about homosexuality that involved Mr. Canada.

You mean to tell this forum that you have no knowledge or recollection of the Conservatives such as John Baird or Jason Kenney for example ever behaving in the same manner as that by which you're so appalled?

Really ???

Ah so it's okay as long is it's your team doing it. Gotcha... The word hypocrite comes to mind...

You're absolutely right, people are on to the Conservatives cheap tricks such as SHOUTING or USING LARGE FONT to get their points across.

Really..it doesn't help your cause or argument whatsoever. It's simply annoying...give it a rest mmmkay?

Please..for the love of all that is good... don't be citing that with any links please.

Thanks.

I hope you mean Mr. Canada was involved in many discussions about homosexuality, not that there were many discussions about Mr. Canada's involvement in homosexuality! ;)

John Baird is another one of Canada's new great men. He stands up for Canada and is not afraid to tell it like it is. We're lucky to have him. He will be in our dreams for many years to come. You'll be seeing much more of him in the coming future. I can sense it. He may be Canada's next father, we'll have to wait and see. Whenever he speaks don't you just get the urge to curl up by his feet to listen to his mind bending honesty. Thank you John Baird.

That's pretty much the sole reason I voted NDP. That, and I voted against the Liberals.

I know it's not going to change your mind, but the CPC's track-record is not one of fiscal conservatism. Yes, the NDP wants to spend on social programs; however, Jack has been realistic about the costs and upfront about taxes and adjusting programs to fit the revenues. The CPC on the otherhand have hidden the costs of the fighter jets, which I agree we need, and have come forth with policies like this new Religious Rights deal that will cost millions a year. All the while they have cut taxes. From where I'm sitting, the only difference between the CPC and NDP is that the NDP is at least honest about what will have to be done to finance their promises. The CPC has been putting everything on credit, so they can appear to be fiscally conservative.

You voted NDP because some guy on a web site is a nut job but it doesn't concern you that the deputy leader of the NDP is a nut job? What cabinet position do you think Libby Davis would get in a Layton government?

It sounds more like you voted NDP because, well, gee, everyone seems to like Jack now, so that must be the thing to do...

And the other deputy leader isn't a nut job....so? And it isn't just one person among Conservative supporters either. Spend some time in rural Canada. I live there. I can't support the views of the COnservative grassroots. It's even worse than the NDP grassroots.

Yeah, well, I don't really care what you think. I'll vote however I please. You can continue to be a xenophobe....oh, I guess it makes sense that you'll probably vote Conservative. It seems to be the place for....people like you.

You don't know anything about the NDP "grassroots" - which is among a long, long list of things you don't know anything about.
