Smallc Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) Maybe not our system of governance, aside from the Senate That isn't broken at all. You may not like the way that Senators are selected, but they do the job that they're supposed to do. ... but our electoral system is broken. And that's simply a matter of perspective. Our electoral system isn't as representative, but instead promotes stability. Edited February 24, 2011 by Smallc Quote

Dithers Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 (edited) It's a necessary part of any federal system. Not the way ours functions. Absolutely not. Tt provides no sober second thought. Smallc Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Tt provides no sober second thought. Just contributes to HoC group-think. That isn't really true. People who say that haven't usually examined the Senate in any way. Quote

Smallc Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 How many bills has the senate shot down in the last 20 years? A couple. One this year. That isn't really what they're supposed to do though. If they were reusing bills on a regular basis, they really wouldn't be doing their job. Quote
betsy Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Poll with CTV Question Period asking viewers, Should Oda resign, 52% sez No! Apparently people outside Parliament don't even know who Oda is, let alone what this thingy is all about. Some mistook her for Star Wars character Yoda. Liberals and NDP are out of touch with Canadians. It's the ECONOMY....that's what concerns most Canadians. Quote

Liberals and NDP are out of touch with Canadians. It's the ECONOMY....that's what concerns most Canadians. And another poll this last weekend showed over 50% did not know who she was. Canadians don't care, she was right in denying that outfit the money, that is all canadians care about, we are sick and tired of the free money being given away when our taxes are going thru the roof, and the energy costs, liberal energy costs at that are to. You libs need to get a plan that helps out canadians. Edited February 28, 2011 by PIK Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
