willy Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 Martin and Harper both had to put up with one sided attacks on their character. Now it is Jacks turn. He seems to like attention but I don't think he will like this kind. It does show someone took him seriously. As the Harper, and Martin attacks were out of context and misleading I am sure these are too but lets see how many of these will be repeated. maplesyrup Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Layton takes aim at Green's environmental plan Layton trumpeted recent report cards from three environmental groups which showed the NDP is greener than the Greens. He also took pains to point out the party is quite conservative on many non-environmental issues."The Green party is not really a party of the left. They've said it themselves," Layton said. "We've had evaluations by environmental groups, very respected, and they've chosen the NDP as the best party on environment." Layton's criticisms weren't limited to his closest environmental rival. He also assailed the Liberals for inaction on the Kyoto environmental accord and the Conservatives for promising to abandon it. Layton also came to the defence of an infamous B.C. whale. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is trying to move Luna, a killer whale, which has made a home at Gold River, a small town on Vancouver Island. He had quite an evening in Vancouver last night, with 850-1,000 people in attendance at a gala dinner fund-raiser for the New Democrats. I don't know the exact number, but they were additing additional tables shortly after I arrived. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know.
