He may not have been found criminally responsiblee.... but he was certainly partly resonsible for turning a blind eye to the fact that millions of our tax money was stolen by his friends and party-faithful.

I believe you mean politically responsible, and he has paid that for sure.

Willful blindness? Was he paid off in little brown bags that we haven't learned about yet? It seems he probably knew about it, but did nothing to stop it. That is not "cleared".

Have we found out about the money Harper was paid off in little brown bags that we haven't heard about yet?

And yes... Mulroney should be in prison. Which has absolutely nothing to do with Chretien's responsibility in this cover-up.

This thread's one big food fight. I like Chretien. He did a fairly good job while in office. I also like Harper, even though I have a few disagreements with some of his recent decisions. But this ridiculous back and forth between you people is a waste of time, and completely uninteresting. Nobody cares. Aside from the four or five of you posting.

Harper is an economist, not a lawyer, maybe there are more reasons for his seasonal trips to Geneva.

He is afterall behind the biggest deficits in Canadian History. Surely there must be some loose change in there somewhere.

Its like he has set out to save Brian Mulrooney's image by outdoing him in every way that pissed off Canadians 20 years ago.

More spending, more debt, more privatization, more americanization. The guy is doing it all and bigger than the man himself.

Is Harper simply a Mulrooney buffer?

Unfortunately Morony hasn't paid back the 2 Million dollars he swindled the Canadian tax payer out of with his lies that were proven as lies in the inquiry... So there you have your answer, oh, and he also remembered to pay his taxes (years after he owed them), although on a much smaller amount than he actually got from Shreiber, just prior to the inquiry... But all that pales compared to selling us out to the States via his "Free Trade" agreement with the US and his shamrock brother Ronald Reagan...
