They blame residents of a nearby settlement because the arsonists reportedly scrawled Hebrew graffiti on one of the mosque's walls. The assault comes as Palestinian-Israeli peace talks have faltered over the issue of settlements. Israel has occupied the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since 1967, settling close to 500,000 Jews in more than 100 settlements. Some 2.5 million Palestinians live in the West Bank. Jewish settlements are illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this. Apparently this is not the first we see of Mosques being targeted in the occupied territories. Seems like Israel 'owns' more of the West Bank than the Palestinians. The settlements are a huge issue, and Israel is not going to have the security they want if they keep on this path. bud Posted October 5, 2010 Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 imagine if synagogues were being targeted by muslims. we'd have the usual suspects howling about how jews are being backed into the corner and any response is justifiable. then i'm sure jbg would be posting a thread about how for the good of humanity, we need to nuke muslims to stop the dangers of islam.
