Topaz Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 While the voting was going on in the House today on the long form census, the Tories ex-cop from Manitoba, stood to vote, she had her blue passport in her waving it. Now, especially when voting that's a "no-no" and why she did it I don't know, but after the vote, a point of order was called by a Lib. asking the Speaker say something about what she did and it be wrong and very disrepectful while a vote was going on. It wasn't the regular speaker but a Tory member, I'm sorry I don't know his name, who is also a junior? speaker. Anyway, I saw what she had in her hand, but the speaker said HE didn't see what she had in her hand and I can only guess, but I don't think he will be a replacement when the regular speaker retires. He was definitley bias. Quote

guyser Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 ummmm....whoop....deee.....do. But she........was.........waving..... it. I mean come on, waving a blue book in Parliament , why next thing you know they'll start thumping their desks, or speaking over top one another. Slippery slope and all. Quote
RNG Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 (edited) From the tone of the OP, "she had her blue passport in her waving it". Is "her waving it" a new euphanism for naughty bits? Topaz Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 OK guys, how many of you have ever watched a vote in the Commons? How many of you have ever saw anything like this happen? How many of you think there should be more respect in the Commons? This was NOT QP, this a critical time in the Commons and if you think its was nothing than you really don't care what happens in the House or you care about what the Tories can do, when other parties would never do. If one of the other speakers had been in charged she wouldn't have gotten away with it. Quote

If one of the other speakers had been in charged she wouldn't have gotten away with it. 'red meat' visual for the Conservative base! This was nothing more than Conservative MP, Shelly Glover, continuing the Harper Conservative distortion dance over the long-form census debate... where months back, Duceppe offered suggestion that perhaps service holdbacks (eg. EI payments or Passport renewals) could be entertained rather than prison sentences for those failing to complete the census. Quote
