Jack Weber Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I was banned for 30 days for a similar suggestion...lol. I'm talking about a one trick pony continuing down the single topic Chisholm Trail... You were talking about something completely different(it was funny, but in really bad taste!) And you've been keeping up with things with your intermittent "A pint of lager and a packet of crisps,please",posts.. Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

Jack Weber Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I paint what I see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o-9_J_Cc2w Interesting... Kind of a Brit version of this classic! Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
DogOnPorch Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Interesting... Kind of a Brit version of this classic! Yes indeed. The song was a punk rock standard...no doubt still is. From 1978 or so...Sexpistols, etc. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) I made a brief living promoting and producing such shows along with anything else that looked remotely entertaining that people would pay $$$ for. Over three hundred shows...some of them good. It's a fickle business, though. Punk always made money...as did Death Metal. Death Metal is a rush...but I could only handle sooooo much. Plus I spent more time putting out 'fires' re: security than time actually watching the bands. Raves were by far...THE WORST. Jack Weber Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 In the promotion business, it doesn't really matter what YOU like...it's what THEY like. Sadly, you are correct....Money talks, especially money that's coming from hands laced with E... But after debasing my ear drums, and my musical taste, with an evening of listening to technodrivel... I usually clean out those ear drums with some serious tunage!!!Something like this? Perhaps the greatest live performance by one of the greatest bands of all time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJCXpFy0E5s Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
DogOnPorch Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I did three so-called legal raves as part of a project involving our city's youth recreation dept as well as eager young DJs. The first one was mainly all folks who knew each other...so it was actually fun. The other two were dismal failures...the last involved the releasing of large amounts of bear spray...oh yay...we cleaned for days. I got it right in the face...Yes, you can breath underwater if needed...lol. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 We can continue this in my 'Bob Hope's Christmas Special' thread if you like...I imagine we've drifted far enough off of this lovely repetitive topic. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
Jack Weber Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Yes...But we've unwittingly found a tactic to diffuse the OP's usual MO.... Edited July 8, 2010 by Jack Weber Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

GostHacked Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Raves are for vacuous upper middle class "kids" who have too much time on their hands... Could be said of the disco clubs era when you were that age. I was born a bit late, but I would have thoroughly enjoyed the disco era. House music and that electro/techno crap sucks balls... Pffff, matter of taste, I've been listening to House since the late 80s. DJ'd for the better part of the 90s, and now create my own house music. Speaking of techno, one of the hardest and longest running techno acts is actually from Israel. Infected Mushroom, seen them once here in Ottawa and last year in Vancouver. Solid solid shows. They've evolved over the years to include some live guitar and percussion. Live Quote
