Question about Haiti Donation

I want to make a sizable donation to the Haitian relief effort. Through what organization should I make my donation? I want to donate where most of money will go to helping the people of Haiti, and not towards administration charges. I've been told the Red Cross is the best with the lowest admin charges. is that true. Thanks.

My eldest daughter has been involved with the Red Cross for a number of years now. She trusts the organization..having a cynic as a father gave her a questioning attitude. The Red Cross is staffed by out going intelligent people...most are well balanced middle class types...I played a benefit recently and was slightly suspect of where the money was going - I just wish that the Red Cross had sponsored this event in full...whether it be the Red Cresent or the Red Cross - they have an untained record and tradition.

According the the Red Cross, they have less than 5% overhead with this volume of money...which is very small. They also have the best network on the ground. I would say that it where your money would go to work best.
