bush_cheney2004 Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 ...what can I say.....? Neither our poster Shadey or Dick Cheney feel that they should have any legal rights. That crap kinda flies in the face of what we all claim we are...a democracy... Not at all....convicts are stripped of certain rights all the time. Has nothing to do with democracy....the USA is a constitutional republic with enumerated rights....either you gots 'em or you don't. This war on terror is a euphemism in the same sense as the war on poverty and the war on drugs. Unfortunately, folks like Cheney believe it to mean that they would grant themselves the power to personally decide what someone's rights are or arent....so to speak... That's what happens in wars...even the euphemistic ones. German sabatoogees were arrested and executed during WW2 (Operation Pastorius)...no American rights fellas...sorry! Former VP Cheney always was and still is a very scary guy and should never ever be allowed to be put in that kind of position of power again. This is classic stuff from a guy at the top of a regime that should never have existed in the first place. That's why we love him...he doesn't bullshit around. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Pliny Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 In 2008 Bush wanted to cut 40 billion from Medicaid. What planet do you live on again? You don't get to rewrite history. \ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11237564/ Just because more people become poor under Bush and thus were allowed to file for Medicaid that doesn't mean he expanded it BTW. More people were covered. It was expanded. In 2008 the Bill to further expand it was brought in by the Democrats. You know the reason why Bush did not want to expand it further. No rewrite necessary. Has nothing to do with democracy....the USA is a constitutional republic with enumerated rights....either you gots 'em or you don't. ... convicts or people accused of a crime still have the right to have a lawyer and a trial/hearing. It has everything to do with democracty. I dont understand why you dismiss that. It appears that you agree with Cheney in that the process would be too much in your world... That's what happens in wars...even the euphemistic ones. German sabatoogees were arrested and executed during WW2 (Operation Pastorius)...no American rights fellas...sorry! Dont be sorry. I did have to look this info up and I could stand corrected on this but ...I believe that the would-be German sabatoogees actually had lawyers and a trial. Not all were executed. A couple of them had their sentences commuted by the POTUS because they cooperated without the need to be waterboarded. I'm now reminded of the Rosenbergs story as well. That's why we love him...he doesn't bullshit around. Well ..... actually he really does bullshit you. The quote of his that I offered you is rather striking evidence of it. Shady Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 In 2008 Bush wanted to cut 40 billion from Medicaid. So you must be really upset about Obama's 500 billion in cuts then, right? Quote

Shady Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 This is more of the shine coming off Obama... They fell for Obama hard. But now doubts are setting in In the first of a series marking the anniversary of Barack Obama’s historic victory, voters in Nevada, who played a key role in helping him take office, reveal why support for America’s first black president is drying up in the desert "Most of the polls now show him losing among independents in the state," says Ralston. And it isn't just a Nevada problem. "It's happening across the country. People who turned towards Obama looking for change don't see change, so they are turning against him now." Link He won several red states in 2008, like Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, and Nevada. He won't win a single one of those states in 2012. Quote
