Now, don't get me wrong here, I have no problem with this. But I want to know how some of these people feel when they criticize, say for example, Hillary Clinton for wearing a veil, or Barack Obama for wearing a Turban. Can I assume now that Harper has made your list of spineless self-haters who want to love the brown man?

Right, but I think that you like many people don't like veils? So it's ok for our men to wear turbans, because we know that they WANT to. And other men can obviously continue to wear turbans. Women however should not be allowed to wear the veil... even if they WANT to.

I already raised in the thread about Clinton and the scarf the example of non-Hindu ministers of the Crown wearing headcoverings at Diwali in Toronto. Unsurprisingly, it was ignored.

I think that you, like many people, don't know the difference between a veil and a kerchief. A viel covers the face. A kerchief covers the head. A turban also covers the head.

So it's ok for our men to wear turbans, because we know that they WANT to. And other men can obviously continue to wear turbans. Women however should not be allowed to wear the veil... even if they WANT to.

As far as whether someone should be allowed to cover their face, I think it is dependant on the circumstance and the totality of the covering. Women wearing a burkha while driving scare me...so do masked bank robbers.

There is an Orthodox Ethopian Church next to my place - I have entered during cerimonies. I show total respect. But I do not dare partake in the activities because I really don't have a clue of what's going on. You can show respect without having to pander or fake it. There are people who will not allow you to enter their home without taking off your shoes - I avoid these people and their dwellings. Besides being the shortest of four brothers..I need the extra heel height. No one is going to make me an inch shorter if I can help it. Liberals do this stuff all the time. Look at the RCMP ordeal - they stuck turbans on a whole wack of officers! Look at the supposed cut throat opportunist mayor of Toronto..he puts on his gay out fit for the parade..and no one howls because they know it's all about pandering to absolutely everyone. Some people will do anything to be liked..Cons are no different than the liberals.
