I came accross this interactive map on the globe and mail's website. It reveals the TRUE story behind all of the hype about swine flu in Canada.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/health/h1n1-swine-flu/h1n1-cases-across-canada/article1352013/

I wonder what the media will cook up next?

alberta has recorded 18 H1N1 deaths at the beginning of the flu season which equals the provinces yearly average for all seasonal flu's combined of 17...so where is the hype? assuming seasonal flu will take another 17 Alberta will have doubled it's yearly deaths to flu...and Provincial Health Authorities project 130-400 H1N1 deaths...are you accusing the Conservative government of Alberta of hyping the danger?

Very informative...

Informative? I did not find from that map how many in the number has also a link with other kind of illness or disease...

Alberta woman first H1N1-related death in Canada

Officials said the death has been linked to the disease, although it is unclear what exact role the virus played. The woman had chronic pre-existing medical conditions, and doctors originally pinpointed those conditions as her cause of death.

Average yearly deaths attributed to the flu are 200.

Though, in recent months it is H1N1 that has grabbed the spotlight, Corriveau says regular seasonal influenza is also a serious disease, with about 4,000 Canadians dying annually from common flu varieties, with 200-deaths in Alberta representing about 10% of that total.
