Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said Afghan citizens who have worked for the Canadian mission for a minimum of 12 months, and can prove they face injury or death as a result, may apply for the new program." This is perhaps the most sensible thing I've heard a government do with immigration in a long time, if ever! Obviously, it's a risk for many Afghanis to support the Mission when after dark some Taliban barbarian will blow up their home and kids. Those that "helped" Canada should be given quick immigration to Canada - As we all know once we leave the people there will murder what they believe are rats and traitors. Same applies for Iraq. Obviously, it's a risk for many Afghanis to support the Mission when after dark some Taliban barbarian will blow up their home and kids.Such Afganis are far more likely to share our ideals about freedom than many others we let in every day. if the cons are considering this now it tells me the war is lost and like Viet Nam before the crew are deserting the sinking ship... this idea is fraught with danger...I doubt very much they share our ideals, what freedom means to you and me can be seen differently by others...I've no doubt we'll be letting in many war criminals and islamic extremeists in as well...
