maplesyrup Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Liberal poster boy: Attila of Alberta Brace yourselves. The forthcoming election campaign will not be for the pure of heart, nor for those who prefer edifying politics. It's likely instead to be nasty, brutish and long.Like many new governments, the Martinites promised to do politics differently. Instead, old-style negative politics, replete with attack advertisements, are back. The Liberals are going to "define" Conservative Leader Stephen Harper as soon as the writ is dropped Everything that Harper has said in his previous life, before he converted to a moderate (ha ha), will now come back to haunt him in this coming election campaign. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France
August1991 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Jeffrey Simpson is a bland, boring, "old" political columnist. Even pre-retirement Richard Needham was more more interesting. Happily for Liberal Party researchers, Mr. Harper did say and write certain things as an MP, private citizen....The Conservatives, for their part, are going to talk about Liberal corruption.... In Quebec, the Liberals will run the oldest campaign of all: Elect us because we can deliver the bacon.... In Quebec, the Bloc Québécois, which long ago morphed into a bunch of career politicians trying to hang onto their jobs... Where does Simpson research his columns? Internet forums? Canadian politics are in a sad state of affairs. Quote
